Ok any tire gurus out there

New set up will be 19" 8.5/9.5

Should the tires be:

225 35 19
245 35 19

Or should i drop side wall to 30?

willtheyfit.com. Find the closest overall diameter to stock - but not smaller. (225/35/19 works, but 245 should be 245/30/19)

EDIT: And I'm not huge on staggered fitments. Car came with a square setup and is well-balanced. I don't see a need to stagger wheels for "performance" reasons while completely abandoning the ability to properly rotate tires... but that may just be the Miata-owner in me talking...

I wouldn't put a 225 on a 9.5" wheel ever..unless you're going for the hellaflush stretch look.

Pretty sure the 225 is gong on the 8.5 lol. He is staying staggered. To clarify.

I have to agree with this one. I like to have as much rubber on the ground as possible for the rim size.

Still, 225 on an 8.5 is going to look retarded.

I ran 245/35/18 on my 8.5s a while back (different car) and 235/40/17s on 9s. The 40 series sidewall allowed the 235s to look less ridiculous on the 9... but they were still stupid. 245 fits amazingly well on an 8.5 - nice and square. 225/35/19 will stretch like hell and look.. well.. not nice.

I wouldn't put a 225 on an 8.5" wheel either. It's still not enough tire for the wheel. If you're going to run wider tires, might as well put the right size tire on it, otherwise it's just extra weight for no reason. Unless you're doing it purely for looks, in which case it doesn't matter if a 225 will fit, you're going to do it anyway.

Again just clarifing, since Adam is too busy to respond and I talk to that guy WAY too much lol. He is going strictly for looks and his last wheels were the same size minus the 19" and he also had 225's on the front. I thought it looked fine but again thats me. The only thing I find odd about his new setup is the 19", they just look weird... maybe in person tho.

Just for those of you that have seen his car, his last setup was:
Front:18x8.5 +44mm offset... 225/40/18
Rear: 18x9.5 +44mm offset... 255/35/18

225/40/18 on an 18x8.5 will look different than a 225/35/19 on a 19x8.5. The change in aspect ratio is huge and will highlight the stretch considerably more. If 19x8.5 and x9.5 are to be used, and stretch must be had, consider 235/35/19 and 255/30/19.

This will not be for performance at all. I do not track the car and never ever plan to. Strictly show.

Only bad thing now is you are getting into tire sizes that are well "special made" and $$$$$$$$$$
