I've mentioned this before, and it may be (read: definitely is) pie in the sky type stuff. However with Apple opening up their dock/lightning connector for 3rd party accessories it would be awesome if they ECUtek could get an OBD2 cable developed/approved by Apple alongside an iOS app so that you could use an iPhone/iPad as the flashing/logging device instead of a laptop.

A couple others:

Perhaps some kind of knock indicator light would be nice.

and of course, I know you've heard this before, but end user tuning. Even if it's just adjusting which racerom functions are enabled on your rom would be a good start.

Not likely any of these are feasible in the near future, but would certainly be nice.

I concur. I think droid/iOS support would open an incredible market, even if it was a very minimal-feature, utilitarian lite app of some sort. I realize it wasn't viable previously, but phones are getting quite impressive hardware specs these days. I realize the R&D investment would require a huge boon in sales for it to pay off. Phones aren't optimal for tuning, but with EcuTEK we're just flashing/logging and portability would be amazing. I'd pay a healthy bit of extra money to not cart the laptop everywhere with me.

I'm hoping the EcuTEK feature set begins to approach the HPTuners model as time goes on (modular upgrade path for self-tuning other vehicles, etc). I'm extremely pleased with the bang for buck at present, don't get me wrong, just thinking in regards of longterm viability.

Exciting to hear they're expanding their staff and pumping out updates! Keep up the good work EcuTEK, Visconti, etc.

I wish that they made a better user friendly tool for ROM features. So a tuner could load all the calibrations, etc. and a user could select for Map 1: add auto-blip, etc. Like a series of check boxes and for rev limit, a user can input a number. It just would make it easier than running back to you're tuner all the time.

Seriously, I know its minor, but from a user standpoint and someone that does a lot of data logging, its really nice to be able to have this function. Its why I love Cobbs Accessport so much. That and the ease of switching maps amongst many other things but i'm comparing apples to oranges.
Holy! That's not minor. That would drive me bat shit crazy lol.

With BRZedit, you set your dash, gauge layout, paramaters, and they are always there. Thank god lol.

What IS minor is these gizmos they waste their time on lol. Like seriously, tach moving to display programming progress?? Their programming time couldnt be spent somewhere doing something useful? I usually hit "flash" and walk away and have a drink of pop lol.

As always, good stuff John.

Definitely agree on knock light. My other car flashes the CEL on knock. Very useful, especially when weather or fuel quality changes.

As others have said, flashing indicators for bad things, fuel pressure drops, knock, etc.

yeah man.. I use ecuedit for data logging for other cars..

It is THE BEST.

The funny thing about it is.. that logging stuff.. is a hacked version of EcuTek's old old deltadash with a BUNCH / SHIT TON of improvements.

I just love it.

EcuTek just a few hired people and I know a few things like the logging interface is going to be improved

Does ecutek allow loading of predefined 'calibration' files?

In domestic world, I can take a stock calibration and then add typical changes for a particular combo.

Ie. Turbo mustang. Hpx maf sensor in 3 inch tube. 60 pound siemens injectors.

So I open base rom. Open a cal file that had table axis and load limits revised form turbo. Open inector cal file that has all injector paramaters changed (size, battery offset, pressure compensation, cranking pulsewidth etc etc). Lastly open a cal file with the maf curve for themagf sensor.

So basically you can save JUST your changes and apply them to a base map. So you end up with a database of common maf sensors, injectors etc

That would be a handy feature. All the domestic platforms do it. Sct. Diablo. Deltaforce etc

Ill take that as a no. Well anyway. Instead of wasting time on all these useless gimmicks that seem to come and go... as a tuner, ability to import and apply cal files is what I want to see.
