Scion to Toyota badge

So i put in an order for 2 Toyota emblems to replace the scion badges i have right now on my FRS.

And i had this weird feeling that i was being some sort of a poser thinking i drive a GT 86...

Is that what we're doing? posing that we drive another car? but it's the same car, or.........

Depends how you look at it. Some will assume you are doing it cause you hate Scion, some will say its confusing and so on. I did it cause to me the FR-S and BRZ are both birth children of the 86/GT86 to begin with. Without Tada Sans vision and will to build & design the car in the first place the FR-S/BRZs would never have been born. Being Tada San is Toyotas chief engineer you decide if you feel bad for putting on Toyota badges, personally I do not and it feels suited?

I don't hate Scion, and did not hate the badges, I just pay tribute to originator in all cases is all....Each to their own..

I chose to keep the Scion badges since Toyota wants to give their small division boost with the FR-S. Also, I had no idea Scion was looked down upon until I joined this forum. The original Tc was a cool car to me.

To each his own. If you want to rebadge, go for it. Who cares what anybody thinks? Live like you wanna live!

I have the Toyota badges and the GT86 badge on the car. I like the car with the Toyota badges. The car is an 86/GT86 in Toyota's eyes and in mine. I chose to convert it back to that because that's what it is everywhere else in the world and it's not mine/US markets fault that the fledgling Scion brand needs better sales numbers.

The development and early concept was named the Toyota FT-86 and not the Scion FR-S or Subaru BRZ.
Toyota wanted a new car in the Scion line up so we have the FR-S here in north america.

Really Toyota is the parent company of Scion so what's the big deal..??

My personal rant for today......so the Subaru owners always call the FR-S a stepchild so who is the stepchild..??
In my opinion the car stated off it's life as a Toyota FT-86 so the BRZ is like the FR-S the poor stepchild of the FT-86.

Maybe someday our original Scion FR-S badging will be rare enough to make the cars worth more. Never know.

All true, but Subaru did a majority of the engineering work. All the things people love about driving it is because of Subaru. So it's not a true Toyota.

But I think everyone can live happy by just calling it the Twins. And that it's BOTH a Toyota and a Subaru.

The only reason people don't really want to give Scion any credit is because that brand was really made to target the fast and furious crowd because of the popularity of the modding scene at the time.

The car has already the 86 badges on the fenders, so whatever you want to do man do it. The Scion FR-S is just the north-american trim of the car.

I kept the scion badges (for now) just because if I don't change ALL my scion emblems, I will personally go nuts and time to time be reminded that I am posing as a gt86 when my steering wheel (where I spend my time) screams scion at me.

But you put the order in already just slap those badges on and drive proud!

Just as honda rebadged how many cars to acura and nissan rebadged how many silvias and fairladys to 240s and 300zx/350z to be sold in the US market?

Again....same concept.

Car is sold one way overseas, and another here stateside. We want the badges that come on the car from overseas so we change them. This car is going to be aurgued about as much as people argue over whether a nissan is a 240sx, 200sx, silvia, or s14.....

Gt86/BRZ/FRS... They're the same damn thing
