So I have to say I love this car. It is the perfect car for me I feel like. I just installed my RCE yellows and damn what a difference. I always had cars that were to far above my skill level to feel a difference beyond power upgrades. I can feel how much more balanced my car is. Instead of the back end stepping out it feels like the whole car is rotating because its the tires giving instead. Its awesome to feel and really confidence inspiring I must say. Now I want to take it out to another autox. Lol

That's a huge tire.

Those DI threads are making me crazy. People are being SUPER butthurt and paranoid about their cars. Saying everyone is going to have a failed motor soon. Why does the internet always immediately go to "DOOM AND GLOOM" mode all of the time?

Fact: 4 cars that get beaten to shit daily on "the ring" had issues.
Fact: CSGMike had two motors that both had this issue.
Fact: That's 6 100% confirmed cases. I think there are a total of 40ish on the forums, and some reports in other countries.
Fact: Toyota/Subaru have sold more than 60k cars worldwide.
Fact: The failure rate for this is close to .1%

WHY IS EVERYONE FREAKING OUT? I know math is hard and all... but the car community is full of morons. This is just like the whole "Rotas will break on you" comment that's always thrown up in the air. It's getting stupid.

I already did, It got ignored. I had even more proper failure analysis questions that I would be asking to help quantify and understand the issue. Everyone went into TL;DR mode and kept on crying.

totally off topic (but hey, where are we? OFF-TOPIC ahaha) that's what I have on my IS350. 235/35/19 F 265/35/19 R. Are you making 300+ crank hp?

this won't help you very much but those sizes are taller/wider than stock on the IS, and if I was lowered they would probably rub; at stock height though, they fill out the wheel well nicely and make the car look lowered. IF the FRS and IS were similar in wheel well size and overall tire diameter (and I'm not saying it is), then you will have rubbing problems since you are lowered.

I suggest a 245/35/19 on there. And 225/40 in the fronts

If you want to protect your rims go 255 but it will affect your acceleration

Going 19's in general is going to do that. So I'm not sure if that's an overall concern.

btw got my car back within same day from Livermore Subaru. Took it in for the oil leak from the triangle plate on pass side rear of motor. Was slowly dripping oil onto the overpipe/exhaust and had oil burning smell for last several thousand miles. Currently past 10K miles.

I brought it in this morning at 10, they took an hour or so to get me into a rental loaner car (no charge) from Enterprise. Got a crap brown colored Altima. Nicer than I expected for a Nissan, but obviously not a handler. Don't like driving big cars and this felt big. Drove around running errands, having lunch, etc. Resisted temptation to flog it down Mines Rd.

Around 4:30 got the call, that the car is done. Went back to dealer by 5:15, handed the keys back to them and took my car home. When I pulled it into the garage I got a familiar whiff of the burnt oil smell. But looking under the hood it certainly looks like they replaced and resealed the plate, and I didn't see any dripping/leaking oil. Perhaps it's just residual oil burning off but I will continue to keep an eye on it.

They washed the car, but yet it somehow still managed to be slightly dirty haha. No big deal, wiped the few spots down with some quick detailer. Remains to be seen if the fix worked, but overall the dealership experience was good.
