2 Day track day at Mid Ohio - Sept 9/10

ITR Expo is at Mid Ohio again this year. I am involved in this event and it's a blast. If anyone is interested in coming I figured I'd post up the info. Pretty cheap for 2 days at Mid Ohio, especially considering the banquet the night of the 9th which is included (as well as an event t-shirt, etc). It is a Monday-Tuesday event.

Strangely this year we have a lot of Novice spots open.. as of this moment 11 novice, 7 intermediate and 2 advanced spots. Instructors may still be needed as well but we have a fair number already (33 - I'd like to see more like 35-37 though).

Location: Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, OH
Dates: September 9-10, 2013
Schedule: TBA
Cost: Drivers: $425 ($450 after August 1), Instructors: $40, Non-Driver/Guests: $40
Groups are filling up. Pay before you miss out on this great track!
Registration Includes:
  • 2 Day HPDE (Monday/Tuesday September 9-10, 2013) (Students and Instructors)
  • Banquet on the evening of Monday September 9th) (All)
  • Raffle prizes from our event sponsors (All)

For more info goto http://www.itrexpo.com/ or post questions here

Yeah. My ITR will likely be sold by then so I don't really have anything else to track at the moment. I am not going to tow the race car up for it, too many brewery tours planned post even to drive a truck and trailer around

Any track (especially one where you will have an instructor in the car) is a good track for a novice driver. Stay within your limits, listen to your instructor, and you should be good to go!

I'll be coming from Minneapolis and driving through Chicago if I go. This is pretty tempting lol.

If you need a place to crash to break up the drive (12 hours total), you can crash at my place in Chicago and we can caravan out together. (as long as I don't go to NASA Nationals in SLC that Thursday-Sunday before this event - if that happens, Im having the car shipped back to Chicago and flying from SLC to Ohio to make ITR Expo).

*edit* I think you should totally sign up as this was the most fun and laid back event I ran at Mid-Ohio last season (4 events total). I'm really looking forward to ITR Expo again this year. So much fun and a great group of people.

Cool! I'll let you know if I decide to go. Do instructors get to drive their own cars, or are they just pretty much there to teach?

Instructors will have their cars, but their main focus is their students. Last year I had two students. There were 4 run groups. So I was on track 3 out of 4 sessions for nearly two days straight last year. It's rough, but it's worth it. I love seeing drivers able to progress with my help. Its very rewarding.
