Almost a year later! haha

Anyways, it really depends on where you live. A lot of guys in Southern California, Texas and Florida can get away with riding low. Even some spots in the Northwest. East Coast, Middle America and Alaska are examples of places that can't get away with lowering cars too much due to those kinds of things you mentioned.

Wheel Directory: Volk Racing TE37SL Black Edition 18x9.0 +45

Here is a look at my car (aka money sink) on a new set of Volk TE37SL Black Edition 18x9 +45 wheels wrapped by Dunlop Direzza ZIIs 255/35 tires.

Also of note, the car is sitting on RCE Tarmac 2 Clubsports Coilovers with just over an inch of lowering ... The front still needs to drop another .25" for the look I want, and once I get around to that this weekend I will update the pics.

For reference I will post a couple before photos for reference:

Stock side view - wheel level:

Current stance - side view:

No need to show profile views of stock - those Prius tires don't poke!

Current Stance - Left Front - Profile from Above: (slight wheel turn - and my foot - SORRY!)

Current Stance - Left Front - Profile from Front:

Current Stance - Rear Left - Profile from Rear:

Current Stance - Left Front Wheel Gap: (Note: I may lower about .25" further)

Current Stance - Left Rear Wheel Gap:

Current Stance - Front view - Ground Level: (Hit a newly shredded semi-tire on the highway 8 days after getting the car, so the front air dam is cracked)

Current Stance - Rear View -Ground Level:

Here is some information about the wheels and tires - with pictures!

Volk TE37SL Black Edition 18x9.0 +45 5x100:
Wheel Weight: 17.8 lbs

Dunlop Direzza ZIIs 255/35 18:
Tire Weight: 27 lbs

Volk Wheels wrapped with Dunlop Direzza ZIIs:
Total Weight: 44.8 Lbs

Hope this info is useful to you all! I am including my Photobucket link to more pics of my parts and car that I have taken regarding these modifications:

Thanks to these vendors:
Evasive Motorsports for the the Volk TE37SLs
FT-86 SpeedFactory for the RCE Tarmac 2 Clubsports Coilovers
Tire Rack for the Dunlop Direzza ZIIs

you need to get some better lugs with those nice ass wheels. its like buying brand new jordans and putting your old laces from your old k-mart shoes on them.

Ehehehe - I was hoping no one would notice on the pics!

I actually have some Ray's Lugs on now that have wheel locks ...

Evasive Motorsports shipped them a little later than I had hoped and I wasn't able to get them on at the same time I did the coilover install in my garage and finally mounted the wheels.

You guys have some sharp eyes!

Thanks for the compliments too!

Once I lower the front this weekend I will substitute some new pics in there that show the new lugs as well.

Alignment comes next week after I get the front lowered this weekend. I'll be doing some autocross later this month as well.

My guess is I'll be going with about -1.5 camber and no toe.

I manually put the front with as much camber as the stock strut mounts will allow to avoid any rubbing issues until I can get it aligned.

So far, no rubbing at all at any corner, under load or at full wheel lock. Lowering the car as much as I did pretty much prevented any issues with the manual max camber in the front.

I will update the thread with alignment specs next week.

Overall - I have to say I'm completely blown away by the grip and handling. The RCE Tarmac 2's with 400/400 springs are obviously a bit more rough at slow speeds with the initial shock, but man does this car even out immediately. I feel bad not taking turns at high speed at every opportunity ... I feel like the car is angry with me when I coast around corners!

Didn't consider wheel hub rings until you mentioned it ...

Now I'm questioning it ... thoughts on needing them?

I know the TE37SLs say that they don't fit a center cap ...

Dayummmmm! This is BADASS! I love the TE37s.
How much did you get them? Also with shipping? Just curious because these things are so expensive.

After seeing a few wheels fly off with hub bolts sheered off from not having hub-rings you bet I think you need them.

Stock wheels the center bore of the wheel is seated perfectly with the wheel hub. You can see the gap in the center of the wheel. So basically the wheel is held in place by the hub bolts only.

I purchased my wheels from Evasive Motorsports for ~3400 with shipping.

Yes ... damned expensive ... LOL
