Genesis Coupe, 2.0l, pump gas, 450 hp.

It's too bad the Genesis coupe is so heavy, the power plant is proving impressive.

This one had a stock long block. Upgrades were external. Exhasut Manifold, turbo, intercooler, injectors fuel pump and a Haltech Stand Alone.

I tuned it a few weeks ago, and it made 410rwhp. I didn't take a shot of the new graph, but it's the same shape curve, just raised another 40 (actually hit 449.4hp). Our local 94 octane pump fuel. Nothing else. He is adding a water injection kit, and we'll shoot for 500.

Thats pretty impressive. Did that start out in life as the 210hp one or the 270? I can't remember what year they got the power bump.

Per the above it is a 2011 Gencoupe. The 2013 model is when the power bump came, but the previous model (as you can see) is highly tuneable and you can really get a lot of power out of these. That said, if power is your ultimate goal you can do it much cheaper with a Mustang GT and some mods.

I believe the Vortech supercharger in a Stang GT is good for almost 600hp and 500ft lbs of torque...

Yeah, they are only tunable upto 2012, Haltech does not support the 2013, PowerAxel flash thingy is terrible, and not sure about the SFR route.

Diablosport has said Genesis is the next platform they will support, and their software is usually excellent.

My friends 2013 with SFR flash, cold air kit, exhaust system etc did make 260 to the wheels, but the power curve looked like... well, it was up and down and terrible.

But the cars are 3400 pounds!

That's all well and good, but you can make similar power with a stock block BRZ/FR-S and it weighs 700lbs less

Yeah and that's basically a 4B11T they have, so it's good for 600hp stock block isn't it?

Not on pump gas you can't.

E85, sure, but over half the country (US) still has no access, and none for Canadians.

From what I've read is that no, it isn't. It's in the same family of engines and the blocks are similar but from there they are different on the inside. Most people thinking that the gen coupe is a RWD evo are totally wrong. Reading that from the gencoupe.com kind of put me off on the platform from a modding stand point.

It boiled down to the '13 GC2T or the '13 FRS for us... The more I see the cars, the more I realize we made the right choice from an aesthetic and 'all around' perspective. Until I started reading about our direct injection problems, I'd concluded that equaling the power output of the GC2T was going to be easy

Regardless, I wanted a V6 gen coupe anyway...
