Yota doesn't make the MZ anymore.

GR is the Alpha dog in the kennel.

Pretty sure the 2GR could do up to 350hp close to stock.

Well, I'm sure they can do 350hp, but Toyota is doin' only 311hp stock

pfft, let's put a 1GR-FSE (i realize it doesn't exist) in there...

man, i got jokes. no way toyota would put a 4.0L in this car, ha.

EDIT: better idea --> 1GR-GSTE (4.0L G-head, turbo, DFI)

Well, if we're gonna talk about upsizing the cylinder count, I wish Toyota could slap an inline-6 in there, just for the sound!

Yes, yes, it's a pipe dream. I know.

good ole emission laws....killin' off the best type of engines ever made.

I'll never forget the sound of my mk3 supra with its sport exhaust. Nothin' like a straight 6 to send shivers down your spine.

I think I would like the viper powered Ram SRT10 more. But a 2jz truck could be pretty sweet.

I hope this car isnt going to be aimed at nerdy kids and will be a somewhat serious car. It needs to have around the same performance as a 370z which is a respectable car.
This guy sounds like that asshole who wanted to swap in... what was it? A 2JZ or something? Dude wanted at least 500HP, because he wanted to drag the thing or some such idiocy.

some of the crap posts on this board disappoints me, but then i remind myself that these people are idiots of the likes of those who put on a chrome muffler tip and expect a car to go faster.
...those who think 200 hp is worthless in a sub 3k lbs car or that if it isn't turbo stock then they will write off the car completely, or god knows some other x-y-z is not enough or whatnot, are the people that I am also skipping over on the forums and completely disregarding.
you know who you are.

and back to reality, the only swap I personally find of value would be another boxer engine. the whole idea is low COG, and if engine mounts and firewall are setup for a subie boxer engine, the first swap will likely be that from some spec'd out wrx that earlier-said idiot probably crashed.

The ej20 and ej25 are the same physical size. The ej25 has a slightly bigger bore and longer stroke. Assuming the ft 86 will have some kind of ej20, so an ej257 from usdm sti would fit just fine and could produce well over 600 whp. That kind of swap has been done a million times. I am sure someone will come up with a kit that will fit in the intercoolling and exhaust for the turbo.

I think what is more interesting is what a built NA ej20 that is balanced and blueprinted could do. My built stroked ej20 can already rev over 8k rpm. Maybe 10k+ would be possible?
