Huh. Sorry, quote trouble. My local Toyota/Scion dealer has been stellar. Get a better car.

Sucks to be you. The BMW dealer was just down the road. Just think of all the bitching you could do about a 50K car that's no better than the FR-S.

I know this is really early to write about, but I filled up at Costco the other day, and ALL my chirps went away within 20 kilometres. Seriously. Again, really premature to write about, but I have checked out a few other blogs and some are reporting the same. 91 octane ethanol free. It is difficult to get though.
Hope this helps and maybe this will work?

I had my pumped replaced a couple months ago after the initial TSB came out. My car still chirps unless I use ethanol free gas. I have 2 gas stations locally that carry this, so I've been filling up exclusively with them. This isn't my DD so it hasn't really bothered me.

As soon as I fill up with any gas containing ethanol, the chirping starts again. Judging by the posts on here, it's seems like something we'll have to learn to deal with.

Mine was replaced about 3 weeks ago. No issues yet but 3 hours without my car is a small price to pay for weeks of no crickets. If it starts doing it again I'll drop my car off again. And when Toyota comes out with a real fix you can thank people like me and the others who were persistent in wasting the dealerships time and money.

Good to know, and thanks for your service to the future owners and community, and they will start to feel the pressure and burn soon if they continually have to replace these, I saw one of them online for $250 and another from Toyota's own genuine parts store for $1000 at a point, it is causing them to lose profit. Maybe if more people are as persistent as you they would open more cases and reasearch into the problem more.

More people need to do what your doing.

I really don't care if the sound comes back, it's more work for them to fix it. They'll blame on Toyota and Toyota will eventually fix the problem.

We'll just have to see how long we have to wait for the perfect "fix" for this noise.
