That's because people's perception of a "modified vehicle" is how much power it makes. I can't even begin to elaborate on how many people back home feel this way. If the car doesn't make 1000+whp they don't look twice and or bash that vehicle. I have had several high hp cars. To each their own I suppose.

Just another poke, anyone else up for the drive out to Prescott this sunday? Locals up there have reported that Saturday looks clear and nice temps. So unless the forecast changes we should be in good shape. Probably leaving from phx at about 9AM? I havent thought up a good meeting place yet, but as soon as I do I will post it up with a list of attendees and a map link to the proposed meeting place.

bummer I'll be out of town this weekend

They will always bash our cars because they try to justify their purchases. New platforms will always have this trend. When our cars gets rolled in to bigger races, people would run out of things to say. Do remember for the price we got our car, we have as much fun or even more than other cars for less amount of money

Oh snap, good example for why stereotypes aren't to be relied on. But just for fun I'll toss out that the blond stereotype probably has its roots in a previous stereotype of valleygirl/mall girl mentality, or someone focused on beauty (dyeing hair blond) at the expense of everything else. In a way it's a stereotyped stereotype!

Either way women have boobs so it's an automatic win, every time. I don't even question it.

car bashing

Nothing has changed. I drove small light weight sports cars in high school back in the late 60's, (don't remind me, i know that's long before most of you were born.) Most guys drove 60s muscle cars and those that couldn't afford them, wanted to. They bashed or were totally indifferent about the cars I drove. Whatever you're not into surely can't be as good as what you are into, right?

As to women and competence with cars. My wife is one of those exceptions. She is pretty mechanical and knows a lot about cars but she depends on me to keep them running. She can drive. I met her at the phone booth at Portland International Raceway. I sold her, her first race car which was a lowered & flared Datsun 510. She and her best friend Julie went through their novice race program in it and raced it for a few seasons including running the Portland 6 hour enduro 4 years in a row. After we got married we shared a Lotus Europa race car and then a VW Rabbit. She won a road racing championship in the Rabbit a few years later against a group of guys and gals in identically prepared Rabbits. She has other endearing qualities as well. lol

I see a lot of people are using Visconti on the forum (and a few others) I will probably make a purchase today to get a cable, rom, and lic.

I still have research to do, threads everywhere are chuck full of too much unrelated info lol.
I went with moto-east instead of Visconti or FA20, and I have been very happy. I have a stock/91 octane/100 octane/E85 tune.
