So does this mean it will fit or you are guessing that means they did not add it because it will not fit?

No problem. Good observation though. If you or anyone else figures it out or tries their AT solar powered knob on a manual FRS, let me know.

There's a video somewhere in this thread that shows a 10 Series 6M/T tC with the solar knob that looks identical to the 6A/T FR-S solar knob. Should be the same threads, the trick will be swapping or finding someone with a VIN to order one for you if you're interested.

I thought all shift knobs had a universal thread. Seems like a huge pain to do it otherwise. I've never swapped one so I of course don't know.

As far as the shift knobs, I don't imagine there would be a problem swapping them. The 10 Series AT cars come with the stock AT shift knob as well. If that will fit an MT, then no problem.

What about the reverse lockout, though? Does that get in the way of swapping knobs?

When the MT Series 10 (which I believe was the same car shown at the New York show) was displayed at Toyotafest, it did not have any shift knob at all, and not for fear of it being stolen, since the car was locked up.

Nope. There are permutations of M8/M10/M12 x 1.25/1.50 for example. Was a pain the ass when I had to find a knob for my MR. Eventually had to make an adapter out of delrin.

That's one reason why I bailed out on the 10-Series! The other reason is that I'm writing out big checks to the University of Wisconsin and Marquette University for fall semesters!

Ouch. Hope they appreciate your contributions to their leaving the nest...permanently.

I have another ETA of 7/12. No new excuses offered for this latest delay. If it isn't here by then, I might cancel. Our auto-x and track seasons only have another three months to go, the car's main purpose, and the car will be a MY older next month. It was an impulse buy and could become an impulse cancel.

I'll remember Scion corporate's casual attitude toward their customers, never having had anything like this abuse buying any Toyota before. All excuses given boil down to incompetent decisions being made by bean counters who forgot that Scion is supposed to introduce new buyers into the Scion/Toyota/Lexus lifetime car buying cycle. They don't appreciate that they're marketing not just any car here and ought to coddle their returning enthusiast and new conquest sales better than this.

I hope this isn't a systemic problem. It can't be blamed on cost cutting given TMC's latest glowing financial and forward looking statements. I think they're losing their North American focus as they ramp up production in China and India and take their bread-and-butter market for granted.
