If you are looking for the best engine notes ever, look here

and finally here

If you want engine notes closer to mere mortal cars, then the JZ, RB26 and UZ on ITBs will do it.
Meh, those don't do it for me. Sorry.

Totally agree. They sound too much like open-wheel race cars to me. Nothing I'd really want on the street. Only one I would own is the GT

Roflmao at you Matador for taking what we're doing in here, and then actually Roflmao'ing at us. Its completely opinion based. Who are you to say we're wrong? Who are we to say each other is wrong? And yes, I'll hold a race-built 4A-GE w/ ITB's against most any supercar's engine note and say the 4A comes out ontop. Thats just my personal tastes though. The only engines that have really rivaled it in the past are the distinctive Ferarri aluminum V-8's.

That **is** your opinion, so I can't say you are wrong....... but I can say that you have poor taste. :p

I do like the 4AG's note, but to say a) That it's better vs a V10 or V12?
and b) to compare a race built engine to stock ones is rather apples to oranges.

Figures though that you'd like a Fezza v8. They use flat plane cranks... sound like 2 Straight fours singing together in harmony.

p.s. do you like the note of the Cosworth BD?

Considering the BDA and the 4A-GE are strikingly similar engines, I do indeed. There was a conspiracy theory of the two engines being one and the same, but I say bollocks to that!
