Cause they you are saying they retest cars with every little update like he we put a new stero on... lets retest.

It not like a whole new model lets say impreza then impreza wrx... they test them seperatly but for a car that has better suspetion, diffrent colour.... and diffrent exhaust...
I think you misunderstood what I wrote. If this car is a different version of the BRZ with a new engine (and not just cosmetic/weight reduction) then you better believe this car must pass US laws to be certified for here. You are in AUS, no idea what your laws are. This would be more than just a radio upgrade. A new engine would require it to pass regulations.

You just want the round cylinder of the concept's wheels and not the actual spoke/face design? Why?

Or maybe you meant wheels?

who knows...they could come up w/ something that looks pretty bomb. we'll see. i'm normally not one for body kits, but if it looks good...and it's not to steep on the $$$$ then who knows? generally the more subtle the better. IMO.

I was always curious why Toyota and Subaru teamed up and what part each company had in creating this car.

Several comments i like to make:

Seems that Toyota took more of the engineering design role in the FT86 while Subaru was more into the research and technical work.

To modernize and improve upon idea of the AE86, Toyota chose to benchmark against the Porsche Cayman S which has great maneuverability. Therefore, choosing a boxer engine and competing in the battle of center of gravity was a definite figure of merit. Toyota going to Subaru for their expertise in boxer engines was a natural choice.

Subaru was given a requirement of a 100HP per liter engine that had great RPM ranges as an NA motor. It must have been definitely refreshing to concentrate in the realm of NA after producing FI motors for a decade.

As the design work was split between 2 companies, a $40-50K car easily became a $20-25K sports car. Subaru focused on the power train system design, while Toyota lead the engineering of the drive line system design.

Great videos~

Most of the suspension components are similar or identical to Impreza parts; its a welcomed cost reduction and head start into the aftermarket.

So I spoke to my MD, he was lucky enough to test both the BRZ and GT-86 back to back in Japan last week.

His comments were the BRZ has a much better handling feel, even pushing it hard you can barely hear the tires. He said the BRZ has a better feel on corners than the 86.

His words exactly "The BRZ has superior handling over the 86"
