I really like how the all red looks! I've already got the brighter amber LED turn signals so I'm hoping it won't just look completely red through the lense. I may do this here soon, gotta do my research and find a local shop willing to take the job for clear. I'm really nitpicky with mine too.

How did I miss this thread!

I acquired a spare set of tail lights the other week and was thinking to take on a project to mimic the bluebatmobile overlays with turn signal cutout that are on my factory tails.

What exactly do you mean by professional clearcoat? Will a friend that has a compressed air system plus air dryer be good enough? We can probably install an oil remover downstream if necessary.

I just mean, take it to a body shop. The clear is clearer and less chance of getting contaminants on them if they are done in a booth.

Picked up some paint and got a test lens to make sure I was laying the paint correctly. Turns out, I didn't too bad on my first try! This light is just the metalcast paint w/ NO clear yet.

I will probably be pulling my tails tonight or tomorrow and spraying them then having them cleared this week!

I had mine done by professional paint guys.... I thought about doing it myself but we have paint guys in house at the dealership I work at and they didn't charge me anything to just shoot them with clear the next round of paint they did.
