Eh, it's a wheel. I could care less if it's a "knockoff"... there are only so many ways to design spokes, most brands have extremely similar wheels and change a few details and then it's considered fine.

170/wheel vs about 255ish (RPF1 in 17x8) isn't considered just barely more in my book.., it's 50% of the Rota more..

And the fact that the slipstreams are available in 17x8.5 instead of just 8.0 with a 5x100 PCD may have just bumped them to the top of my list whenever I start running 235/40/17s.. well only if that weight they list isn't right lol Slipstreams use to be light.

Emotion CRs are nice. Too bad you are limited to the XT-7 and XD-9 for 17x8.5 for 5x100 though.

Price is high for cast wheels too.

yeah the bolt pattern kills it for choice I had below cost when I got mine so it wasn't terribly bad

I did just read for 2011 the Gnosis line you can do more custom offsets and bolt patterns

you could care less, but for others it does matter.

yes, but rota's intention is to outright copy designs. not just one or two similar designs, but almost every popular JDM design is outright copied.

i never said "barely more" i said not that much more. enkeis arent triple the price like a forged volk, but the quality, weight, and strength of the MAT wheels approach that of a forged wheel. and for "only" 50% more? that's a bargain in my eyes. for others it may be too much...

I'm guessing if we use the "reasonable person" standard most would not consider a 50% increase in price to be "not that much more". Most would probably say that it would be closer to "barely more" ie 10-15%.

Nothing against Enkei, the RPF1 was going to be my goto wheel for this car, but now I'm not as sure as I'd rather have 17x8.5s if I do run 235/40s..

semantics and the internets dont mix very well i guess...

either way, whatever you call it, enkeis are not "expensive" like volks are "expensive". however, when it comes to quality most, if not all, would agree that enkeis with MAT process are closer to the performance of a volk than a run of the mill low pressure cast wheel. therefore, enkei MAT wheels are a bargain imo.

My post with all of the racing teams that successfully run rota's is proof that these 'lesser' wheels have performed at and beyond the standards of some of those pricier brands you have listed. ON TRACK.

"...Enkei MAT wheels are a bargain imo."

AGREED! These wheels are SO quality, you dont even have to balance them!
Throw on the tires, bolt them on and GO!
