There have only been four or five different threads on the '14 changes, as well as about the same number of posts in this thread....

If there will be steering wheel controls, i hope airbag stays the same, cause i'm so swapping it for 2014 wheel in that case.

There are not steering wheel controls. Subaru announced the changes to be:
- Debadging
- Aha radio app
- Knee pads

Unless something changes that is what you can expect to be different from a 13 vs a 14.

It will simply be a firmware upgrade in all likelihood, not even a HU hardware change. No steering wheel controls, that's for sure.

If there are only three baseless changes:

Debadging - k...I can do that?
Aha radio- software upgrade, great....
knee pads - wtf? great

Then we should have seen more info about the 2014 long ago. They should have already started orders and production if the 2014 has so few changes. In fact, we can all have 2014 model year if we make those three changes.

I suspect there are bigger plans and bigger changes happening. My guess is that it depends on the engineers. If they can squeeze out engine changes before the year runs out, they will stick it in the 2014. If not, Subaru will just basically throw in a couple changes and then 2015 will be a larger update. I certainly hope we see engine changes in 2014..

Engine changes? When did that ever happen after year of car production lol? That was probably the thing that was worked on during prototype stage the most. If anything, changes will be minor, such as interior trims etc.

The cars are selling themselves. They won't do any major changes until 2015 MY when you see more competition from Ford (new Mustang) and Chevy (new Camaro).

Aha not available in the US models? I use Aha with my OEM BRZ HU paired with my Android phone. I use it to listen to podcasts.

The Subaru Drive magazine listed these changes...if that isn't sufficiently 'official', what would be?

^As someone else noted, what's in that magazine could easily be a partial list, as it contained no new features whatsoever - Subaru and Toyota could be holding bigger stuff back until closer to the MY2014 release date. Point is, nobody really knows now, it's all speculation.

True, but speculating does not help either. We do know that historically Subaru makes very little changes in year 2 of a new model. Especially a model that has beat sales expectations and has received tons of accolades.

It is rare for a company to make many changes in year 2 of a new model release. Honda did it recently for the Civic, but that was done due to all the negative reception/publicity and embarrassment.

Subaru has no real incentive to change much if anything.
