The Atlanta market is really lacking when it comes to tuner shops. If only I had the capital now I would open my own shop. I did all of the work on my WRX minus the dyno tune which I could have done if I had the equipment

There used to be a place in Woodstock/Acworth that did everything called Knowledge Performance ... But it looks like they went under a while back.

Depending on what you're looking for, All Pro Subaru Specialist can help with installs and parts. They're right up the street from one of the best tuners in the country, Doug Wilkes at TopSpeed. bATLground is still open, but by appointment only. I wouldn't touch Forged Performance with a 10 foot pole.

We have a few shops in the city for other makes/models as well.

the owners family of Knowledge had some "issues". The main guy who ran the shop was killed in a car accident...then his dad, who was the primary owner of the shop, died in a car accident...I think. I can't remember exactly what happened with him, but yeah...mom and sister were all that was left and they couldn't run a shop, so they dissolved it.

I knew the Knowledge guys when they were open. It seems most of the shops here want to deal with high end cars. We need a shop in this area for lower end cars.

If it's at butler parking deck, it's me.

All Pro is THAT shop...other than tuning, they can cover everything you need..

Six Star Service in Decatur is also perfect for that

It would be the same pretty much as anywhere else in GA since we've switched to the registration tax rather than property tax model.

The thing to look out for are the bogus "Doc Fees". That's where they'll get you.

Gotcha.

The tax portion will be 7% regardless of where in Georgia you buy the car. I would think $4,000 would more than cover that and any other fees you can't negotiate away.

like he said, $4k is plenty. if you have a trade in, it'll drop since the total transaction will be less. I wouldn't imagine much more than $1700 or so depending on what you get the car for and whatever extras they slap on it. with trade in you could go as low as 800-1200 depending on your trades value.

(cost of car - trade-in) * 7% = tax
