Will you Autocross your 86?
Will you Autocross your 86?
Mine will most likely have cone marks within days of taking ownership of it ![]() Planning on running in the local street tire group for the first year then run in Stock or Street Touring (STX?) depending were the car will be the most competitive. |

I'm seriously considering running in Stock, especially with the rule change on anti-roll bars where now I'll be able to change the rear or front rather than just the front. I'll have to buy new 17x7 +48 wheels and 215/45 NT-01 rather than run my 17x8 +35 235/40 track setup. If the brakes calipers are the same as the Impreza, it's just a matter of sliding in Carbotech AX6 pads and hitting the parking lot.

How not? I have a track 15 km from my home. That is also the purpose of my purchase of this car. For everyday I have a car. If not you see what daily car I wish.

What group do you run with? FAST? SCCA? someone else? I'm in Tampa.

I'm planning on it. I'm very interested to see where it'll slot into the SCCA Street Touring category. Right now it seems like it's about 50/50 as to whether it'll be in STR with the Miatas and S2Ks, or STX with WRXs and Bimmers.

I am hoping for STX, I don't think the 86 would be competitive against the S2000.
