What is this?

Not sure where to post thos but i was hearing a strange plasticy rattling when going over bumps coming from the front rigt of the dash. Couldnt reproduce the sound from the outside of the dash and nothing was making that noise in the glove box. I pulled the glove box out and found this loosely attached to the back right sode of the glove box itself. It was just kinda in there attached to 1 clip and could move around freely. What is it? i took it off for now to see if the rattle stops

That is the glove box strut, allows it to open smooth and not slam when you open it. Not sure how it came loose. But it will cause no harm if you don't put it back on. Have anything serviced recently? Cabin air filter etc.?
