Word is that the drivers are taking a stand regarding tire issues--supposedly led by Massa.

We'll see if there's a GP this weekend...

FORZA Alonso!!!

I DVR'd it and watched it today. I thought Silverstone GP was good. A lot of moves and action. Sux there were tire bursting, because I am a Hamilton fan.

Anyone upset Weber is leaving F1? I think once you reach F1 you are at the hype of ALL racing. I know rallying, offroad and other racing classes are hard, but just feel F1 is like racing engineering at it's best.

I'd be pissed if I were Massa. Given his opening drive he very well could have fought for a podium spot. Other than the exploding tire, he was rocking all Sunday.

Shameful about the exploding Pirellis. I can't imagine what the driver's were thinking, talk about fearless. Also surprising to hear the crowd erupt in cheers when Vettel retired.

Great finish though, another lap and it could've been Webber on the top step. Sorry to see him go, but smart move to go out with a top tier team and join another top team in Porsche. At least he won't have to make his usual feeble standing starts in sports car racing.

I stood up and clapped when Vettel retired. The season needs competition. Imagine how much closer Alonso would be if he didn't retire in China or have his DRS fail in Bahrain. This helps bring back some balance. Alonso himself said Vettel was due some bad luck. Look at Fernandos position this time last year, 40 points up, followed by two rough retirements. Lots of race left and Vettel will need more than just speed to get a fourth championship (remember last year he only beat Alonso by 3 points...)

I was commenting about how nothing bad happens to Vettel, then BOOM his car gets disabled. That. Was. Awesome.

The multiple rear tire failures...not so much. Too many safety car laps.

Thought it was the other way around! Another F1 forum I read is saying cheering his retirement is poor sportsmanship. Screw Vettel. I want Alonso on top this year!

I cheered when I saw vettel retire he is my least favourite of the F1 drivers only reason I like red bull is because they had webber(an aussie) there, im interested to see what the investigation into the tires exploding turns up if it was the new bonding Pirelli introduced at Silverstone or was because of the new drains that were added to Silverstone that those divers ran over when they went wide in those corners and cut the tires open

I think Ricciardo will be a good replacement. I don't think Kimi will move to Red Bull to be a second driver to a douche like Vettel.

Go Alonso!

I'd like Nico Rosberg to come from behind for the Driver's Championship. The Mercedes team is coming alive (extra test days?) and if it weren't for retirements, Nico would be further up the ladder now.

But whoever contests, they'll need to figure out how to keep Vettel within DRS distance during the first few laps or it's over.

formula 1 goes phat when the drivers are pushing past the boundaries to the point of breaking the car.

Silverstone was a doozie. luvit.

The extra test days are a modification of the upcoming young driver's test later in July. Mercedes was banned from the young driver's test so all this new "open testing" will still exclude Mercedes.

Mercedes is Pissed.

So Mercedes takes up Pirelli's request to test tires and does that. Then RedBull/Christian Horner (crying babies of F1) take up arms against them. Now everyone's tires explode and people are calling for "open testing with Pirelli"! Wait! You mean you now want that thing Mercedes did earlier in the year that you bitched about and required an International Tribunal???

Ross Brawn should come out an say if Red Bull has a single sliver of dignity and character, they would exclude themselves from the tire testing since they were so adamant against in-season testing and any attempt to participate in this "open tire testing" around the young driver's test (where they can use current cars and drivers) would discredit Christian Horner as team principle and RedBull as a team.

Can you tell I hate RedBull.

So the head of Red Bull has said it is a three way race for Webber's seat

Ricardo
Raikkonen
Vergne

I say a two way between Raikkonen and Ricardo it depends on wether or not Vettel has a say as Kimi wont take crap and could out perform him in a Red Bull.

As a Kimi fan part of me wants him in a better car but the other part does not want him to play second fiddle to Vettle.

German GP about to start hopefully a good race
