Base price for the H. Genesis 2.0 Turbo in The Netherlands is 42.000 euros, yes thats a whopping 56.700 USD

Im hoping the GT86 will be priced lower then that...thinking max 37500 euros. About 50.000 USD

Hyundai Genesis Coupe cost 50.000 euros in Finland. That's V6 model, no turbo here. I did talk with toyota salesperson about the price, and she said they are hoping that price starts from 35.000 euros. In comparison, Golf GTI starts 38.000 euros with 2-door and manual and no accessories at all. Golf GTI 35 edition starts 42.000 euros and r-model starts 54.000 euros.

So, i think the price could be quite right i think. You just have to decides do you prefer booring looking fwd hot hatch or do you like beautiful rwd coupe. Price is almost the same.

£28K in the UK so it is far more expensive than many people were expecting. A great shame. For that reason alone I will not be having one. A second hand M3 looks like a much better proposition.

just read a article on a dutch website who said pricing would be around 50.000 euro!

Not only is this way to much money for me but if i would have this kind of money i wouldn't spend it on the 86.. all kind of other cars are available for that money.

so true and I wouldn´t spend it too.

I read about this, too (pricing form 40k to 50k € http://www.handelsblatt.com/auto/nachrichten/vorhang-auf-fuer-den-celica-erben/5895630.html) - this is absolute ridiculous

BUT

here they say fully loaded about 30K € http://www.auto-motor-und-sport.de/news/toyota-auf-der-tokio-motor-show-neuer-gt-86-trifft-auf-oeko-zukunft-1419189.html what seem to be OK

Ridiculous is the right word indeed. But i think we can only say one thing for sure and that is that they absolutely have no clue about the pricing yet

I do think that the pricing in holland will be better than we expect. Next year bmp ( a tax that only exists in holland ) will be 11% less and with a co2 emission of only 160grams it doesnt flag any extra taxes either.

Plus the 86 for me is still a direct competitor for the clio rs which is 25k in holland. anything above the 30k and it will have to compete with more powerfull cars like the golf GTI and megane RS.

oh and if someone is even thinking to reply with GTI and RS are FWD and FWD sucks just don't....just don't...

so I goolged a little bit and:

http://www.autobild.de/artikel/toyot...g-2318980.html

-> there´s link to the "official" Facebook TOYOTA GT86 Site http://tinyurl.com/bsktdpz

and there´s a link to http://www.news.de/auto/855247236/de...-sich-durch/1/

so ca. 30.000 € is official (?)

EDIT: Sorry, it seem´s it´s just a report - nothing official!

i personally could live with 30k as long as they give me a reasonable price for my old car and if the 30k price doesnt only contain the car 4 wheels and a steering wheel.

Hmm, i dunno. I think this car is best of that bunch, so it doesn't bother me if its same price as a golf gti. I hope that it is cheaper, but i doubt it. Rumours says that price in finland is about 40.000 euros. Same price as a Golf GTI with 5-doors and DSG and without any accessories. MX-5 costs here 44.000+ euros with 2.0. Starting price is 34.000 with 1.8 liter motor. So somewhere between of those.

A Clio RS costs 30k euros in holland. Megane RS starts at 33k euros.

Hyundai Genesis Coupe 2.0 Turbo starts at 42k euros.

I think the GT86 will be priced around 35k euros in Holland.

Well here in France, the V6 3.8l Genesis good for 303ps costs 35.990 €uros, in spring next year, the 2013 MY will get more than 330 ps, so I doubt that the GT86 could sell at more than 28.000 to 30.000 €uros.
