I don't think it's nearly as harsh as an S2k. Women drive in the 350z and RX8. The FR-S should be liken to an RX8 and Miata so it will be female friendly as well.

well since all we have are reviews, i am imagining this thing is going to be much more harsh than the rx8/miata suspension...maybe not though. its probably pretty hard to have any idea what the car is going ot be like with everybody running their mouth about what they expect or what gt5 is telling them. and of course women will drive it but i see alot of them liking the way this looks and then getting steered into a tc

There fewer women driving S2Ks because there aren't any available in automatic.

There are more women driving 350/370Zs because they have an automatic option. And for this discussion they are practically the same car.

I think you'll be surprised at how many women, and the types of people in general who will be driving this the FR-S/BRZ because of the automatic option.

Actually the Miata has pretty high NVH levels, which is probably one of the reasons that most of them, contrary to popular belief, are owned by men.

i dont know how fair it is to say that alot of women are going to drive it simply because it comes in an automatic. tons of cars come in auto. this thing being automatic doesnt mean alot of women will drive it. having an auto doesnt make it any different than any other car that has an auto tranny

A chick car is only based on looks. Most sports cars look handsome and a chick car is generally round-like etc,.

VW Beetle
Chrysler PT Cruiser
Fiat 500
Mini Cooper
Toyota Solara

The FR-S and the Z doesn't look really round and they look pretty aggressive looking so they are not styled to attract women to "chick cars". Now the first gen tC is a little bit round looking around the edges.

I'm a chick and I can't even get offended by all these comments because by and large, they are spot on. I know I am the exception and not the rule when it comes to cars and motorcycles.

I also think that what gender drives what cars are also regionally-specific. I see tons of chicks driving 350z's around here, and always found it interesting that although the s2000 is a gorgeous vehicle, I don't remember ever seeing a woman driving one. I don't think this car will be mainly owned by chicks, since many of them want a cute, sporty car, not a raw sports car.

I think the better thread topic should be, will the TC still be relevant as a performance platform.

Suprachica, I didn't mean my comments to sound sexist or offend. I was just stating what I have noticed from the road along with girls I have dated in the past, my experience with my wife as well as her girlfriends.

In general (there are many exceptions I know) most women don't care about sports cars to the extent that us guys do. They primarily want a car that looks "nice", rides well, is safe and has room for kids, friends and shopping stuff. I'm sure they would drive a sports car if given to them for free, but most of them seem to gravitate towards SUVs or sedans. It is cool that there are females on this forum interested in the AS1, but that is not typical for the general public.

Depends what you mean by relevant. Honda had Integra and Civic at the same time and both had a large aftermarket following.

Haha, I know that's why I said I wasn't offended because the stereotype is almost always true in this case. Most guys who first meet me have no idea that I know more about cars, motorcycles, and sports than they ever will

RX8 is not even close to being a sports car...
