Found this. Looks like a working demo was shown on a 2013 BRZ:

Very cool. I will get the update when it is available.

Don't know anything about timing or cost.

This radio is used across the other Subaru lineup. Not just the BRZ. So yeah, if your car had steering wheel controls you could use it. Ours doesn't.

I'm happy to hear this news, I didn't want to be kicking myself for picking up a 2013 in late April if it was going to turn out that the 2014 would be a big improvement. I debadged already anyway, but I was tossing around the idea of buying JDM kneepads, so now I'll wait and see what the 2014 brings (hopefully they will cheaper/easier to get than the JDM ones are now). I scratched up mine while messing around with the radio.

Well, what did you hear from your district rep?

wondering if anyone has seen any sort of confirmation for this...

might be a stupid reason, but the stereo reviews is the main reason i've not pulled the trigger on a 2013...

So you're waiting on a 2014 because you just want aha on it? The actual head unit is not changing. All the negative issues with the stereo will still exist in the 2014 haha

i want something that integrates with a smart phone better so i can stream / change content without futzing with the phone itself. aha appears to be the way that subaru has chosen to tackle this. tickets in california are very expensive...

From the summer 13 edition of Subaru Drive magazine:
Quote:
New Features:
Driver and front passenger knee pads
Available Aha entertainment
Revised badging
Hopefully the knee pads and aha will be available for 13 models too.

Knee pads huh? Glad I waited. I was going to pick them up in Japan when I go this September....

Hopefully they are the same as the JDM, that way I can order through my shop's dealer discount and write it off, lol. So I'll just have to grab the STi start button when I get there...
