No DIY on this. Jeremy has a great post about them here. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showp...0&postcount=73

I bought these mostly because I hated getting flashbanged by the lowbeam headlamps of Lorries and Tall MPVs at night. Bonus add that I can see a whole lot more including my blind spot. The more information I have the better driver I can be. They are a bit expensive but I really hate getting flashbanged.

Let's get to the goods

The backside of the mirror. These don't tape on to the OEM mirror which I love. I can go back to the stock ones if I wish. There are a series of guide plastic tabs, but overall it snaps into place with 4 clicks

@F1point4 You make the best tutorials/reviews. I wanted to take similar photos, but my gf still has my camera battery.

Keep up the good work!

In that case, I am going to send you a PM for a list of items...and if the price is good (plus good shipping options), I will order all of them at once! Awesome

No problem with tint (Suntek CarbonXP 25%) day or night. This was also my primary concern prior to purchase and I have NO regrets. The new direct replacements are great and take literally 2 minutes to install.

Yep, I was blown away by how easy these were to install! I used a long screwdriver and a towel to protect the paint and had both mirrors done in less than 5 minutes. I hated the blind spots when I first got the car, but they're completely eliminated now. This is easily the best $100 mod that I've done to the car, it should've come with these mirrors from the factory.

The version 1 they initially started selling were compatible as they stuck on to the existing mirrors...for these v2 ones you have to pop out the existing mirrors that have the heating probes as part of the assembly I believe. Unless I misread or missed something, v2 blue = no go on heating

You can see the heater element in the 6th photo of post #99 above. The Rexspeed mirrors ought to work EXACTLY the same as OEM. Just wider angle lens and the blue tint to kill headlights!

My next mod without a doubt.

I think that is just the motorized mount. I believe the heating element is a pad that is inside the actual mirror housing.

See below from page 4...the heating element is inside the actual mirror that you would swap these in to replace.

is it possible to unglue the black plastic backing to stick on a heated circuit, then put it back on after drilling two small holes for the probes to come out?

edit- using something like this
http://www.ebay.com/itm/UNIVERSAL-MI...4f367a&vxp=mtr

edit- edit- I just ordered them... I guess I'll test it out!
