I'm sad I missed Vegas, so of course I'll go to some meetups soon most likely 86fest, I'll probably roll through 8/6 in Oakland, CA seeing as I got my ride from Suby dealer in downtown oakland lol

I know there are a few other rival forums/sites but I do believe FT86Club is the largest of them. Just kind of funny if there is some bizarro-world group of guys just like us out there though, representing NorCal.

I don't own an FR-S either. So just by the name alone they've excluded me. Just curious, it's always a little funny to see how things operate outside your own realm. I can see just from a few minutes perusing the SoCal FRS site and the 86Fest site, that there are some people who straddle the fence and visit/participate in both. I have no interest/time to splitting my waking hours across even more car forums/sites, so I try to pick the best one and stick with it.

NorCal is one day (Sat 8PM), whereas SoCal is 2-day event (Sat & Sun). I do think we need to poll the regulars here, and see what everyone wants to do! Sadly I do think we will get split up somewhat, sounds like some have already planned to do one or the other.
If we ever want to hang out with norcal ae86 guys, first friday of every month they have a rotating meet around the bay. Maybe we should go to that in July then focus on 86 fest? though I know some cant make it to socal, so i feel represent at both is ok

I have done some more perusing of the events' sites, and there's definitely pros and cons of each.

NorCal 86 Festival: Closer for most of us. Cost is not announced yet but guessing it will be free or very low cost to spectate. Don't believe there is any driving or motorsport component to the event. 1 single evening event on Saturday. Probably will not be as many raffle prizes/giveaways/vendors that are ZN6/ZC6 specific. Focus on old-school 86s and other Toyotas. (i.e. not Subaru).

SoCal 86Fest: Further distance/higher cost. Hotel/lodging probably required for most (unless you have family/friend local to stay with). Ticket cost $10+ per person, more for VIP or preferred early access. $50+ to show your car. Saturday is exclusively the dynamic driving school ($140+) so technically the main event is Sunday. AutoX on Sunday is $85+. Definitely not the bargain we got in 86EXPO. But I believe it will be a huge gathering of ZN6/ZC6s and focus will be on these cars. Huge media/tuner/aftermarket vendor support and presence.

I'm still very interested in attending either or both.

I'm pretty sure Norcal 86 fest is a free event, and as such I wouldn't expect any raffle really. Especially for our cars. It really is an AE86 meet. But it is local and they do welcome our cars. A few guys in the FB group have them.
