That seems so wrong, but so right at the same time. Kinda looks like your car with those red mudflaps.. now I see the end goal for your car.

Yes, definitely looking into a "light" rallyX/road rally version of that as my end goal. I've messaged them about their suspension set-up and undercarriage protection and have gotten some ideas of my own, just need the funds to do it

Nameless has been saying they will post a build thread around here, but I'm sure they're too busy competing at the Nameless rally up in WA right now. They do have constant updates on their facebook page.

kartboy for the shifter. if you want performance springs go RCE or Swift, though you don't get much lower is the only go about an inch below stock. If you just want to drop just get something besides Tien S techs.

For that oil drip people keep talking about? I still haven't had that issue yet, and I've had mine since June 6, 2012.

Yep - to address the oil leak issue! Consider yourself lucky that you haven't had to deal with it! So annoying to start getting up above 4k on the twisties and smell a gross burnt oil stench thanks to the oil dripping down onto the hot exhaust pipe.

mine definitely has the issue now. 10K miles though I have been smelling it for a while now. Now I can see oil that has dripped down to the overpipe, and see/smell smoking/burning oil as a result. I'm gonna take it in to the dealership tomorrow and see what they say.

I can always smell something, but I have never been able to find the leak. I always kinda assumed it was the tires so Im sticking with that personally. And thats after 27k on the ODO.

I, myself, haven't had that problem (knock on wood) and have had the car for more than a year now (May '12, ~15k miles). Seems like a better solution (using seals instead of a sealant that may or may not seal if done incorrectly). The only problem I could think of is pricing. Looks like the quality is there, they just have to make it affordable enough to make people go with a quality part instead of going back to the dealer for a free fix.

Good luck at Livermore Subaru, keep us updated as to what they say. I am hesitant to go that direction just because of the mixed bag of results people have reported regarding dealer fixes for this issue. Some people get a working fix, some have to keep going back again and again.

Burning oil is a pretty unique smell that is easy to detect, especially when it's repeatable by hard acceleration over 4k and then rolling your window down. Also while it's not always easy to see evidence of burnt up oil on the overpipe, if you take a paper towel to the bottom part of the OEM plate while the car is cold it will tell you if it's leaking if the paper towel gets oily residue on it.

Yeah, it's interesting how it's such a mixed bag of people that do or don't have the issue. At first I didn't think it was related to production dates, but now it seems like the cars that were made earlier don't have the issue, and then the problem started happening months later into the manufacturing.

You have a point about the price, I'm not sure how much they are looking to sell these for. Plus, the automatic versions of these cars are immune to this issue since they don't have this plate.
