Talk about acts of Road Rage. So my girlfriend and I were heading North from a party in Baltimore back to Philadelphia around 1am. We were on a 2-lane road that had a sharp banking turn. I was in the left lane and he was in the right lane, a car lane ahead. He started to cut into my lane during the turn so I honked my horn, slowed down and then flashed my lights a couple times.
I then got ahead of him and the 2-lane road went to about 6-lanes as two other roads joined and then quickly was merging back down to 2 again. So I kept merging right and right, in front of the guy who cut me off. So he may have thought we were cutting him off over and over again or something. Once the road settled down to 2-lanes he drove next to me and I look over and this guy is waving his gun at me. So I tell my gf to recline the seat and lay down ( I just tinted my car 15% - specifically for privacy) and I get behind him and have my gf call the police. I got the license plate number and general year/make of the car - mid 90's Buick. So cops say pull over and they will meet us to file a report. Cops finally show up, my gf is in shock. I am more pissed than anything else. So the cops say if he has a license to carry then we will investigate, but it will be more like a "he said she said" deal or if he doesn't have a license to carry then they will be able to get him on other charges and I will prolly walk away as far as my incident. I don't want to deal with court hearings as my gf and I both work odd hours. Anyone ever have this happen to you? Or any advice? |

Try to get away from him and try not to create more aggravation. Most likely people that are irresponsible like him doesn't have CCW and most likely its an illegal firearm. That gives you more reason why you should not follow him.
Also if he is taunting his gun around, its considered a threat with deadly weapon.

If someone waved a gun at me they would most likely not live to talk about it. I carry a gun in my car pretty much all the time and if they are brave enough to pull a gun on me they had best be skilled enough to dodge .40 caliber bullets. I personally would have just let him go ahead from the beginning as soon as he started coming over in my lane. At that hour he probably had a few drinks in him.

I completely agree. I will prolly let things go and hope he gets charges for not having a license to carry or something similar. Not worth it I suppose.

I learned a long time ago that it isn't my job to educate other drivers. Not only does maturity help you develope defensive driving skills that help keep you out of accidents, it also allows you to keep your cool and stay out of confrontational situations. Consider it a life's lesson.

he said she said?
that's some bull right there. ![]() I understand if they don't want to go to the guys house and ask him to show his gun. But out here if they happened to catch him on the road and pulled him over, even with a concealed weapons permit. it would mean some trouble for him. My girl honked at a guy who stopped dead in the middle of the street a few moths back. She went around and continued home. She did not realize the guy fallowed her to the house. long story short... I am just glad I was home and was able to tell the guy to chill and to let road rage stuff go. guy even had a wife with him and the dumb ass lady was holding a infant in her harms. I should not have confronted him, but I just wanted her to get to safety. If she noticed him she would just keep going and call 911. After that crap, we got dash cams in our cars, a house alarm with remote panic and a 12 gauge that she can get to quickly. |

Every day idiots are on the road. I don't pay attention to idiots. WHAAP, post #8, has the right advice. Keep your cool drive on and forget about it. By the end of the day if you are a cool dude, you will have forgotten about it. Repeat, idiots are on the road each and every day. Don't be one yourself. You MAY be overreacting.

I had the same thing, minus a gun happen.
I was driving and accidentally cut this guy off. Close call, no one was was in danger or got hurt. He then proceeded to continually flip me off and say "F*** you". To me, I felt that sufficed. However we get to a stop light and he gets out of his car and starts punching my window. I just looked at him, luckily, the light turned and I drove off. Scared me but shows me how crazy people are.... |

I agree with ya guys. I am safe, life lesson learned and etc. I can only help he doesn't have a license to carry and the police charge him with the felony of that. Other than that, I am moving on.
I have been thinking of dash cams... will that lower my car insurance by any chance? |

Smart of you to back off and not have that situation get out of control.
It doesn't happen a lot here, you're stupid if you do so, but stuff like this happens and it shouldn't because more than once is enough. I guess some people can't hold their own so they rely on a gun to make themselves feel bigger. Stay safe dude.
