Overpriced? My computer gets 90% of my gaming and entertainment workload. Overpriced is hundreds on a console I might not power up

Considering I've done 3-4 playthroughs EACH of ME1, 2, and 3, read all four comics, three of the four books (4th one had different author; awful), and routinely wear my N7 armor hoodie out and about... I'd say that if a Mass Effect MMO ever did come out... I might never see the sun again.

I personally want to see those greedy bastards at microsoft burn down for their greed. Everyone should boycott the xbox one for the simple fact that they even tried to pull that bs on us. If they could have gotten away with it, they would've. They didn't change it because it was what the customers wanted. They changed it because they would of failed miserably if they didn't.

They changed all the policies because that's WHY the customers were claiming such failure. So we hate them for doing what the customers wanted? I'm confused.

Here's how I saw it going down:

CEO: Hey we have this grand idea for a fully connected console with all these sweet features that we can take advantage of with this new hardware and network!
Employee: Well.... what if they don't have internet?
CEO: Our system is BASED around it! I'm sure people will understand!

*nerds explode after E3*

CEO: So... uh.... about that fully connected utopia idea.... scratch that. People want discs and don't wan't to be on the internet.
Employee: What about all the new stuff we already told them about?
CEO: Try to make it work, but most of the stuff will be scrapped. Hopefully that will make them happy, because they spent the last week telling us that's EXACTLY what they wanted.

It's a shooting game, not rocket science. What we (the shooting game players) want is a fun and balanced game that looks great, plays smooth, and has varied weapons and locations. The added complexity of the Titan mechs are very interesting. There's a great commentary from a developer that goes more into the design and philosophy of the game (below). The key is balance, and he talks about having to balance being a pilot and a Titan. At its core, it's a multiplayer online shooter. So don't expect it to be like BioShock. I am very much looking forward to it.

Microsoft: Hey, lets create a system that requires users to buy only new copies of games, and will not be able to share it; This will maximize profits. They also have to be connected to the internet at all times so we could possibly sell their information or increase advertisement related to what the user is interested in and since no one reads the user agreements we can get away with it. They'll have to buy the system since their hands are tied, unless all of the current xbox owners want to opt out and go with ps4.

Customers: Seriously, microsoft........? We're gonna go with the cheaper and more powerful system that allows to share, play used games, and not be connected to the internet at all times just to play a singler player game.

Microsoft: SHiznit. They called our bluff.

My point is they aren't doing it for us. They wanted to see where our boundaries were. If 100% of the potential buyers said they weren't happy with the design but will still buy the system, microsoft would have just left it the way it was.

Most all of the "haters" were fanboys. Most of the negative press was perpetuated by Sony fans that, for years, have been scorned because of their lack of meaningful exclusives and pitiful online community.

Most of the people buying the Xbox One, were buying it because of: Brand Loyalty, Exclusives, and Vision Belief.

"Cheaper" is relative. The equal equipment on a PS4 will surpass the out the door cost of a Xbox One.

I have no dog in this fight, I will not buy any of the two new consoles. I have a PS3 only used for my 2 yr old kid to watch kids movies.

Having said that, whomever does not think the conversation went very similar to this wallace03 post, needs to go read capitalism 101. OF COURSE the conversation went similar to this! Its all about profits and this was the way to cut anyone else from making a profit but themselves.

Every business decision is a decision made with making more money in mind.

The good thing about the Vita is you'll be able to use it to stream games from the PS4. I've heard there's a couple of good games, but it just doesn't have a huge library yet.
