Heard two distinct Pop / cracking sounds today (inject o-ring?)

I've been following the threads a lot lately, even before I bought my car.

Currently it's sitting at less than 1000 km's on it. Today I went into a corner pretty fast in 3rd gear and when I let off the gas once it straightened out I heard two distinct crack / pop noises. I took the car to about 6000rpm and then reverse loaded the engine by letting off the gas (might have put the clutch in, can't remember).

I'm super paranoid that this might be a DI o-ring issue people keep talking about but I have yet to see anyone describe under what conditions they are hearing this popping.

There was some gravel on the road so I'm hoping that maybe it was a rock or two bouncing off a wheel well or something to do with the drive line.

Does anyone have any clear and concise steps for reproduction of the DI o-ring popping noise? Even a detailed description of when they've heard it on their own cars?

Assume exhaust afterfire; very reasonable especially if you have a modified exhaust.
Could be anything...just relax and you'll enjoy the car more.
