I feel like that article was written by a high schooler who got the 370z to induce under steer, and equated that with too much weight up front. It's not FR-S when it comes to on track feel and feed back, but to say it's got poor weight distribution is asinine. It's a great handling car.

Really? The interior sucks? In 06 it did, and the interior was one of the reasons I ended up buying a G35 Coupe back then. The G35 didn't have a much better interior design wise, but the quality was much higher, plus you can aim the driver's side A/C vents to cool your nuts. In 2010 Ford changed a lot of things and used much better quality materials as well. In 2011, the 2010 Track Pack suspension became the standard suspension on a base GT. Even today, it's probably one of the best bang for the buck cars you can get. A friend of mine got his 2012 Brembo GT with 3.73 rear (base car) for 27,800 out the door, and that was in December of 2011. As far as the interior differences between 06 and 2010, night and day. You keep bashing the car and yet you haven't even sat in one. And as far as reliability, I have 100+ 1/4 mile passes in mine, 2 Auto-X events, and 4 HPDEs and other then tires, brake pads, and fluid changes, the car has handled everything like a champ. Mine was an early 2011 build and I had a defective syncro, and when I brought it in, Ford replaced my whole trans even with all the mods on the car.

I hate my Mustang too. If you decide to get an amazing 11 year old E39, throw your Recaros my way. I'll hate them for you.

We get it, you don't like them and you think the Mustang interior sucks. Now stop talking about it.

No butt hurt at all, and not American, sorry. And 3 out of my 12 cars have been domestics, so I'm far from blinded.

On my way home from work the first part is a flat highway with a lot of traffic, some yahoo in an WRX just blasted by me and was darn near reckless gaining position past several cars. I thought wow that's fast but what a waste.

Then there is a big long steep multi lane curvy hill in the country. Today there were two dump trucks and a 350Z in front of me. The Z and I both had the same idea to get around those dump trucks as the road opened up the hill. I was very surprised that my FRS kept up with the 350Z up that steep hill.

As long as this odd boxer engine proves reliable I'm fine with its performance, its not a WRX but it does just fine.

That or it's the societal way of saying, I'm too lazy to do it myself.
It's standard on the Sport Package, which is like 3k. That also gives you the bigger fixed calipers, LSD, and still no oil cooler.

From my household, 4 out of 11 cars have been Fords... all have been POS.

We get it already, you hate fords. But your experience is not THE definitive ford experience. My brother picked up a 98 ford taurus with 140k miles on it, one owner all highway. He spent $500 on it. That was 5 or 6 years ago, its now over 260k, and still on its original (yes, original ) tranny and engine. sure its got some squeaks and rattles, but he'll drive that thing till the wheels fall off, and has gotten more than his moneys worth out of it. The biggest repair he had to do, besides replacing a bumper that cracked was getting some coolant lines replaced because they rotted away. Our mechanic was amazed, he had never seen a car last long enough that those lines rotted away.

Edit: oh and it was in a movie that shot last summer on LI called the maid's room

Tl;dr luis_gt is biased, not all fords are POS's

I think when buying used cars a lot depends on how well the car was cared for. Biggest reason I bought a new FR-S over an S2K,240SX, or used Z is I am maintaining it from new. I think a lot of new car buyers skip oil changes, run the piss out of the engine cold, etc because they know they will trade it in before the end of the warranty. I see that attitude on this forum a bit. There are few new car buyers who intend to keep their car 250k+, but I do.

agree 100% the guy who owned my brothers car was an aircraft mechanic, and maintained the car like it was a plane. I for one downloaded acar pro when I got my brz. I had had the free version before, but went pro because it offers many in depth stats and customizations. I have a record of every drop of gas to ever go into my car as a result

There's still an IS350AWD in the house too, but I don't drive it nearly as often anymore since getting the Mustang.
