The boosted FRS takes another win! Video Summit Point TT2

This car continues to impress me! The 3 wins we've taken since boosting and adding downforce haven't come easy but the chassis is responding very well to our input.

This weekend at Hyperfest Summit Point we battled it out in NASA TT2. It was a close race all day against the Z06s and EVOs but once I got the tires where I wanted them, game over and we dropped 2 seconds off our lap time.

The Element Tuning Scion FRS runs it's first NASA TT2 race at Summit Point Raceway. Still early in the development of this car as it's only competed once before with this setup. Still we managed to get the car a little better dialed on the last run and came away with a 1:18 lap and a win in TT2.

Thanks, I still street drive as you can see it still has all the front OEM interior and I still rock the AC I ran the AC on grid for about 30 minutes prior to my race which was delayed due to a 4 car pile up on track. I'm sure everyone elsewas gagging due to the heat!

Thanks because I still need the car for R&D which means I need to drive it on the street I decided to keep the front part of the cockpit nice

I'm going real fast race pace now though so I really wanted a little more protection. I didn't have time for this event so I held back my pace but I can install my harnesses and HANS and feel safer if something bad happens.

I took the side panels out to fit the cage and didn't have time to uninstall so the oem panels could be cut and reinstalled but those add a ton of sound deading. Weight isn't an issue in most of the racing I do since they are power/weight ratio classes and I'm so much lighter than the EVOs, Vipers, and Corvettes as is I take a huge HP penalty.

Do you mind me asking what is the car making for power right now as it sits? Like you said power compared to a few of those cars you listed may be lacking but your damn straight on the weight! The fr-s would be scary with a boat load of power and hooking around the track haha!! I also love the 18x10 wheels do you have any more insight on them or fender work at all? Again very nice car and keep at it!

Sure, I had to take some boost out from what we ran in the Whelen USTT (where I actually raced in the Unlimited Class) because NASA penalizes me for running a non-DOT slick so I was running 335 whp. You have to be careful but since TT2 isn't my end goal I didn't care but if I ran a 265 width or say a Hoosier A6 I could have run 365 whp.

18x10 et 35 is no problem, no fender work with the BC coilovers (I think on the OEM I had to run a spacer up front). Your tire diameter and width will be the issue. I was running a 285/645-18 and it requires pulling in the rear and a very stiff setup. Rubs up front by the reflector so a little work there and it rubs at the rear frame rail seam (so I trimmed that).

Thanks for the info I love the aggressive wheels! I will be going with a full blown turbo kit hoping for around 315-320whp on pump and low boost with room to turn boost up on e85. I love this time attack stuff I really want to get into it with my raven! I have 3200 miles on mine so far daily driven and have already tested what it can do in all stock form in the curves and so on

Bring it out to the track! Mid-Ohio isn't too far away from Dayton!

Make sure you get the Full Blown radiator with their turbo kit for track use. Even with that radiator I was running hot at this race.

Oh and don't forget you need to be tuned conservtively for track use. This is part of the reason I like to race the car on my Hydra base maps so I know they can take abusive driving.
