I went to Puente Hills Subaru because they had a limited brz in stock available for test drive, they only said I needed to have my credit ran before a test drive, after they ran my credit and it checked out, they told me I had to agree to making a deposit and to the $7000 markup before I could test drive it. They are crazy. I ended up getting the BRZ I wanted from South Coast Subaru for the price I wanted.

I bought my BRZ from Bob Moore Subaru in Arlington TX. They put a $2500 mark up on mine too. Also wouldn't let me test drive. But still doesnt change how I love the car lol.

That's the guy my friend got the Impreza from. She was happy with her purchase too.

Dunning Subaru in Ann Arbor, Michigan - currently have a Galaxy Blue BRZ Limited, with $799 of BS markups, $399 paint protection, and $400 interior protection. At least now I know I don't like the way the dark blue paint looks in person, and I know which dealer to avoid.

I just picked up my BRZ for $500 under MSRP through Todd Shak at Subaru of Santa Monica. He may be worth a shot of you're striking out in Southern California.

Wanted my first post to be about him since the guy flat out rocks, but unfortunately did not end up buying from him but purely do to the fact that I am in Ohio and he is in Colorado. Clint from Heuberger Subaru in Colorado. If anyone is even remotely close to there I fully urge you to give him a call.

**** Hannah Subaru in Vancouver tried to screw me. Traded in my auto for a manual. Called in after seeing the online price as 28,000 and them confirming the price as 28,000. Drove two hours to find out it was marked up to 36,000 do to "demand." Was finally able to work it down to trade in and $1,000 cash.

They tried to tell me the best they could do at first was trade plus $11,000.

Titus Subaru of Tacoma tried to screw me, the salesman Ryan Watson is a snake. Here's a "quick" breakdown.

I found a bare bones limited for 27,800 at another dealership 50miles away (lower tax also). I asked if i could have it shipped to their dealership because my family had purchased 2 subies in the last year and would prefer to buy it from them for loyalty reasons. He said sure, but he would sell it for 27,900 (msrp) and would not match the price. I explained that the sales tax in Tacoma is 9.5% and at the other dealership (Marysville) it was only 8.6%. So not only would i be paying 100 more, i'd be paying roughly 250 more in tax alone. He then tried to sweet talk me about good sales experience, and how he wouldn't match the price. I then saw he had a white limited in stock and asked if he would match the price. He would not budge. I then called another dealership and they were willing to trade with tacoma and not only obtain the white limited for me, but match the price of the other dealer (27,800). When the dealer called his, he was unwilling to trade the brz. Moments after he sent me an email which basically told me to f*ck off (if formal writing). His email said that he knew that i was the one asking other dealers to obtain his white limited and that he was going to hold on to it and good luck trying to find a brz (hence the f#ck off part). 3 other dealers were willing to price match the 27,800 that i found, in some cases they were willing to give me an even greater discount.

Willing to lose loyal custmers for a measely 300 bucks? To that i say "good luck" to you Titus Subaru of Tacoma.

Subaru of Highland Park, IL.

This may not seem like a big deal to most, but had the car delivered to my apartment. Had a 1/4 tank of gas in it. Told the guy to fill it up and bring it back. Gave me attitude. Went to his boss.

Got a free gas cap cover, and a full tank.

you may not have gotten the dealership experience you wanted, but not selling at the price you want (especially when there is no markup over msrp), isn't trying to screw you. just saying.

This seemed outrageous to me... Is this common?

------

You'll also notice on the sticker that they crossed out what appears to be the original dealer (Capitol Mitsubishi) which paid "$770.00" for destination and delivery and had the original retail price at "$26,265.00".

------

Additionally they would not allow me to test drive it... Needless to say, I'll never visit Stevens Creek Subaru in San Jose again.

Does anyone have any Subaru dealer recommendations for the SF Bay Area?
Ooooold post, but if you're still looking, check out Carlsen Subaru in Redwood City! They took really good care of me, and they were asking 1k markup back in 2012 when delivery was first happening (I got mine in May 2012) but at this point, everything is MSRP (or maybe lower). Talk to Larry Fung and let him know that Andrew S. with the silver BRZ sent you his way.
