A friend and neighbor in my sleepy little Oregon hamlet owns an LFA. He took delivery about the same time the Nurburgring Package was announced. He was depressed for awhile but still loves showing off his car that he parks in the entrance way to his home!

The small city of Calgary is winning for the number of active series 10 owners on this thread! 4 are active on this thread from Calgary. May I ask which dealer you are picking your car up from? Sorry, I believe only torqdork would know the categories.

Cat C = onboard a ship sailing the high seas enroute to your POE.

Makes sense my dealer said mine was on a ship when I talked to him Saturday.

I'm happy this was just boxes being tossed around and not a video of how they treat animals and pets.

I was told by my sales rep that vehicles often get damaged at port (paint damage, door dings, etc.) but because it is still considered part of the "build process" damage is fixed and not reported to the customer. Interesting...

I'm a little worried about this "silver ignition" paint colour: Wondering how difficult it will be to do stone chip and scratch touch ups considering the reflective/colour changing properties (going by photos here). Flat paint like Firestorm is sooooo much easier to touch up (speaking from experience).

Country Hills. FRS-D has South Pointe covered. Is yours a MT or AT? Awesome how we tracked down every 10 series FR-S owner in this town.

Historic damage incidence rate is .0004%, so for a typical Maru carrying 6,500 vehicles fewer than 3 are damaged and those are almost always superficial scratches from stevedores parking in the POE storage yard. Last I knew, any damage over $300 moves the vehicle to Category W, damaged and may not be retailed, so is used for either regional courtesy vehicles, dealership technical training or donated to a Toyota T-Ten technical training college. Cat W happens so infrequently that T-Ten programs have a long wait list.

That stat seems suspiciously low given the fact that at 34, this is my 6th new car, and I have had three vehicles damaged before they got to the dealer.

1st: Damage to vehicle rims from however the vehicle was tethered. (Scuffed quite badly)

2nd: Paint damaged on edge of driver door (I can only speculate how that happened)

3rd: Interior of dashed scratched quite badly from a stereo upgrade done at port.

I understand your stat-- I just think that it is low because either the damage is not perceived, noticed, or reported. Sometimes I think they don't bother doing anything about it because it makes them look bad, or they bank on the fact that most people won't notice.

But thank you... I do appreciate the stat and it makes me feel better! And now that I think about it... I can't prove that the damage happened at port or prior. I just know the cars were damaged when I took delivery.

Wow, bad luck. I've owned literally dozens of new Toyota and Lexus vehicles (first Scion coming!) delivered through three POE's and never had any damage to report. Oh wait, one was railed from Georgetown, KY, to Portland and had some rail dust that required special detailing (warranty), but that was it.

For reference, here's a typical stat in line with mine:

"On occasion, cars are damaged in transit, but just 0.04 percent of the vehicles that NYK delivers to Toyota in Newark need repairs, and most of those are for small scratches."
