Would those that have driven a mostly stock car with an Innovate SC agree with that?

Because if so, that will be perfect, IMO.
I'd think that ~300hp, nearly 300ft-lb of torque and awd would more than mitigate the weight difference between the two cars (around 600lbs not counting any added weight to the FRS from the kit). All other things being equal I still think it'd be a tough kill for an FRS, even with the SC installed.

I'm thinking more neck-and-neck. But once you mitigate traction issues, say passing on the highway or accelerating down a straight, the AWD system is moot. If anything, it will be a greater handicap as it is using about 10% more hp to drive than the BRZ's drivetrain.

But looking at the base numbers.. Say we get 220rwhp from the kit. Judging from the Oz numbers, that seems about right with a small amount of fiddling. That figures to about 258bhp. With a 2700lb car, that's 10.5 lb/hp. A GD STI is 3350lbs. With 300bph, that's about 11.2lb/hp. Sheer numbers, that gives the edge to the BRZ. Couple in the more efficient driveline, and it should give a noticeable advantage.

Now how does this translate to the real world? The likelihood of finding a stock power STI rolling around out there is not too likely. (I know of one and I just sold it to someone in PA) A good STI driver will maximize his corner exit and have more speed going into the straight, so that would neutralize or overcome any advantage. Really, it could come down to drivers at that point.

Bottom line, the numbers tell me that when I want to pass that left-lane hog I'll be able to do it just as handily as my STI. And that's a good thing. I'm so familiar with my STI, that I use my experiences with it as a benchmark.

Not quite apples to apples but Robi passed an Evo X going up the hill at Laguna Seca. I'd assume the Evo was under full throttle (no reason he wouldn't have been).

I'm thinking this set-up will make a 13.5-13.7 sec quarter mile with good launch, given the power to weight.

Robispec is also running e85 with a 2500lb car and a different rear drive. I think a stage 1, pump gas frs with everything else stock, even assuming it makes 220hp, is going to have a hard time matching the nearly 300ft-lbs of torque from a stock sti. The 40-70mph times for the sti are harder to beat, at that speed our weight advantage is less..advantageous. Also, gear ratios play a role, and I'm not sure if the sti is geared better for such shenanigans.

It's definitely a drivers race though.

Honestly, I'm getting tired of hearing about Robi's car in this thread. I love what he's doing with his car, but too many people are basing their opinion of this kit on his car. There's so much more going on with his car, compared with the average Joe FT86's car, that the comparison isn't even worth talking about. Tom's and sw20kosh's cars, from what I know, are probably a much better match for what the majority of the buyers of this system will be doing.

Meh, I am happy to see how far our car can go with this kit. Robi just shows us what can be done with the right parts which just happens to have this kit as a large contributing factor.

Car enthusiasts or haters with their bs dramas, I know which I'll have a beer with.

Terrible comparison but hey there's no real updates:

sw20kosh:
66-90mph ~4.6sec

stock brz:
66-90mph ~7.5sec

for comparison.. the car in the video below, with a full blown base kit, does 60-100 in about 5 flat and 60-120 in about 8.5. that's about the same as a supercharged e46 m3.
