As far as the OEM stuff went for me. I actually went out and did some hot laps with stock rubber, rotors and brake pads but I wouldn't recommend it.

I had upgraded my brake fluid to DOT 4 but in the afternoon when I was running on my slicks I managed to get the brakes or lines too hot coming into turn 3 and just about went off the track. I went back out again after everything cooled down but I wasn't as confident about the brakes after that. Definitely going to upgrade the pads and add braided lines next.

Black_tire was running braded lines/upgraded pads/strut brace and I really liked the way his car felt.

Overall its a blast, but it certainly be better with those brake mods.
I never felt like I was down on power, just down on brake feel.
Speak for yourself. I did feel the need for more power, but then I think that is always the case with me. I instructed a student with a BMW M5 at DCTC last year and felt it could have used a bit more power. An adjunct to getting more power is reducing mass, especially rotational mass. The 200 lbs of [not so] dead weight that is always in my passenger seat doesn't help either.

Minnesota Check In

Hi guys. I'm not from Minnesota but I'm damn close to it, across the border anyway. I was wondering if any of you are planing to go to maperformance proving grounds this weekend? Would be nice to see a couple of fellow zc6 owners.

I don't think I'll be making it to RK tonight. I was in the emergency room Saturday night. I'm okay but I need rest and am under a lot of restrictions right now. Which really sucks because I've been inside all weekend and would really love to get out.

Maybe next time.

Welcome! Thunder Bay is close enough. I would do the HPDE at proving grounds both days if I could afford it and if I didn't already have other plans. Have fun!

I'll be heading up there Saturday to spectate with a few friends, I'll see you there. Just look for a completely stock whiteout FR-S next to an AE86. I'm the lanky white guy probably near it.

Was thinking we could meet up before hand. Heading in together is the best way to park together.
I still need to know where and when.

Sorry dude, hope you feel better soon

I'll be in the parking lot right after 6 tonight. I'll try to hold spots.

Sorry for not making it to RK today folks, yesterday I was working and missed out on fathers day so today I took my dad to go eat out to make up for it. Maybe next time and I hope you all had fun!

I work friday-sunday this weekend, if I can get somebody to cover my shift I'll definitely make it. I might give the AutoX a try, might be the only BRZ participating though as far as I know...

Nice to meet a few of you guys last night at the rck meet.

Hopefully see some of you guys out at Proving Grounds by the sounds of it. I'll be out there on my bike, so if you see a guy in a white/orange leather one piece suit by a stretched r1 come say hi and make fun of how stupid hot I'm going to be!

Thanks for hanging out yesterday. BlackTire and I stayed until the lot was mostly empty. I'm glad the weather improved, it ended up being really nice out.
