Ignition Taking Too Long?
Hi, so this was the first time this has ever happened to my FRS. I've had it for about 9 months now at 10k miles.
I put the keys in and it took me 10 seconds to start the car. Has anyone encountered this problem? This was the first time it's ever happened. |

It's never the fastest car to turn over. It actually has to cough a little first. But then I figure F1 cars are probably not easier to start either.

Make sure you allow the car a couple seconds to prime the fuel system before you try to start it.

Sorry to get you so confused and disconsolate. I was referring to the hard to start aspect of the two types of cars. Both are specialty cars that do not respond instantly to a start.

My car fires on about the 4th or 5th crank/revolution on the starter motor. There's no spluttering or effort required. It's not some old lopey v8 on carbs.
However, on a few occasions (and I mean I can count them on one hand in hundreds of starts), it hasn't fired for several seconds. It does this if you foul the plugs by interrupting the start cycle by prematurely stopping it, but it has happened spontaneously before. I wouldn't exactly call it a problem, unless it's doing it the majority of the time. |
