If it came with a basic tape deck, and basic accessories, I'd still buy it because of the limited nature of it. I am putting a bunch of mods on my car, figure put it on a more unique car to stand out...that's all. I like all the FRS's for what they are, they are purposefully built for the track from the ground up, you sit in it, you forget everything else. when you are driving the car, the glowing badges, whatever, it's all irrellevant to me. I like the car because of the way it drives, bottom line. Hence the plethora of mods I have lined up for it...if the Series 10 didn't come out, id still love my Raven "Base" car just as much...I just think that the car comes the way it comes, and if you want to change it, change it...my stance is, until the car is in front of my face, I don't want to have any opinions one way or the other. all I know is im buying it regardless the way it comes , because the car drives like heaven ))))oh, edit....I still bought the base Raven back in October, which is a base car...knowing fully that Toyota would eventually put goodies on a car down the road...didn't think it would be so soon haha. I am a physics nut, and time is not reversible, so figure I wanna enjoy now rather than wait. |

Anyone in NY getting any info...I placed a pre order on the Series 10 on 4/16 and I was told an ETA of late July to early August. Is anyone getting the same ETA? When I spoke to the dealer in May he told me first week of June and then nothing. Since everyone was promised first week in June do you guys think you will still get them in June? I'm expecting hopefully 2nd week of July ETA.

For me, bottom line is that I want a Toyota 86 GT or GT Limited. Prior to the 10 Series, the most cost-effective way to do that was to buy a BRZ Limited and swap a lot of parts. Ballpark, it would cost US$10k+ to properly convert a standard FR-S. With the BRZ Limited, you could do it for maybe $5k. On top of the price difference from a standard FR-S, assuming no dealer mark-up, the BRZ Limited was the cheaper option to convert, with less labor involved. Now with the 10 Series FR-S, for $3k over a standard FR-S you get much closer to a proper 86 GT. There is still plenty to change, but the bigger $ items are covered, and you don't have to waste $ and effort swapping Subaru HID for Toyota HID, or Subaru front bumper cover for Toyota, etc. It also has the added bonus of showing up as "Toyota" on my registration, like every car I've ever owned for more than 20 years. The only real issue with the 10 Series over the other models available is the paint color. That could make or break it for converting, if you personally HAD to have a certain color. I like silver, but wasn't a big fan of Argento, but after seeing Ignition Silver in person, I think I will be totally happy with it. Things like the light-up badges don't really factor in to this scenario. I will still try to keep the feature, if I can work out a 3d-printed replacement clear plastic piece to match the Toyota badges. Between that and the paint color, I hope to end up with a uniquely North American market Toyota 86 GT. Supra2nv is apparently putting all that $ saved on conversion items into the pricier TRD Japan offerings, and more power to him! |

This is basically my line of thought... I would go for the BRZ since it's closer to the GT86, but the lack of availability and the difference in suspension made me want the FR-S more... and when the Series 10 was announced with the headlights and dual climate, I just had to jump on it... I've yet to see the color in person, but if what they say that in direct sunlight is more bluish than silver, I'm more than happy, as light blue is my favorite color... Now if only the wait wasn't so long... |

Edit...didnt realize you were asking Luis about Puerto Rico haha...I will leave this info up anyways...I think you asked this? there are 10k total 10 series across the Scion line up...2500 FRS's, not sure how many are manual and how many are auto...but figure the BRZ was sold out like hot cakes on its initial run of 6k units? this is only 2500...I jumped on it, thankfully to this thread I got a good heads up, because I was going by dealer input of "2014"...pays not to fall asleep haha. |
