That plug does not look like it's seen an excessively lean condition.

It appears everyone is having seal, plug, and coil issues with cylinder one???
Has anyone had a fail on any of the other three cylinders?
My 2,3, and 4 seals looked great.

i'm getting some slight popping when rev matching on shifts.definitely sounds like it's coming from the exhaust though. Running nameless overpipe/downpipe/hfc and nameless axleback. Stock ECU now.

I'm assuming it is unrelated, but can anyone ease my nerves and confirm?

There is definitely something odd about this situation.
Broken plugs, burnt destroyed injectors, damaged engines and coil packs malfunctioning.

I can't believe tuning is the single culprit here.

Coil packs fail on all kinds of engines. It's the mistake that most manufacturers do where they bolt the coil pack to the engine itself rather than running it remote with plug leads/wires.

Det can break plugs. Det can damage injector seals. Det problem fixed by re-cal. End of discussion.

Want a cookie? It's not available from Subaru (not sure about Scion) in the US. Contrary to your prior assertion, until a fix is made available to us by the manufacturer, it has not been fixed.

You ladies can club together all you want. Have any of you actually asked Subaru to flash your car with A01 yet?

My Subaru service rep told me they couldn't flash my ECU.
He said they didn't have that capability - Which we all know is a complete lie.
The rep told me the only way to update my ECU was to purchase a new one for $1000.
At that point I drove away and haven't been back to that dealer since.

They don't know what that is (or don't acknowledge that it exists).

I find most dealerships a bit shitty. Threaten the parent body with legal action if you're not getting an adequate response.

You should call the Subaru customer help line and tell them what the dealership told you. It's one thing to say that there isn't an available update for your ECU. It's just plain wrong to try and sell someone a part they don't need.
