Mophie Juice Pack Car Dock w/ photos!

Hello everyone! I figure this is my first helpful contribution to the forums. I think this is the right category to place this in, if not, please help me move it!

I am a big Mophie fan. Since my Galaxy S3 days, I have used Mophie juice packs for the convenience of having battery all day without reaching for the wall charger. I know there will be some who will say they're overpriced and cheaper alternatives and what not, but this isn't about that. I just want to share with you guys how I installed my juice pack car dock onto my BRZ that makes charging my phone a breeze with almost not visible wires!

What you need:
-Mophie Car Dock
-USB extension cord 3'
-black electrical
-rubbing alcohol

I don't have a photo of the packaging it came in, but what comes included is the car dock, the usb cable attached to the car dock, and usb car charger. It was a single usb port so I decided to order a separate 2 port usb car charger from Mophie to allow someone else to charge their phone as well. You only really need 3 feet extra to make it, but the only one available at Best Buy at the moment was 6 feet. Plug the usb extension cable into the usb car charger and plug that into the center power port.

I used black electrical tape to secure it to the side of the center console.

Then sticking the wire into the gap between the handbrake and the shift lever console panel, I ran the cord along that gap and taped it down to hold it in place just in case.

I then lifted the panel on the side of the shift lever and stuck the wire in there and ran it out the foot well.

From there, the 3-4 of excess cable I had, I cable tied into a bunch and connected it to the Mophie usb cord and stuck it underneath the steering wheel panel. There's some space down there to place it so it's out of your way.

Now go to the dashboard and prep the surface with rubbing alcohol to remove anything that could affect the suction cup. Once you found the spot that is most flat, secure your car dock.

Now run the wire along the gap by the door to the foot well. It fit nice and snug without needed to use any electrical tape there.

Now you're ready to bundle up any excess cable you may have with the rest of the usb extension cable underneath the steering wheel and you're all set!

This can probably be used for more than just a Mophie car dock, but I found it really match with the interior of my BRZ and really look like it blends in with the interior instead of sticking out like a sore thumb and cables everywhere.

Side note: You may want to have an extra usb cord in the glove box for your passenger in case they want to charge their phone. They might accidentally pull on your cord thinking it's just laying around on the drivers side and pull everything out!

have you considered running the power plug from the port in the glove box? that way you won't be able to see any wires at all for that stealth look. you can run it through the passenger a-pillar, headliner, down the driver a-pillar, then to the dock

There's a port in the glove box?? That changes everything! Slightly too lazy to go back and re do it. Haha. I might change it when I go install my OEM Audio Plus system and I have remove some stuff anyways. Thanks for the suggestion!
