Ok, I guess my joke flopped.
They're exactly the same but in my joke, the FRS has less wires in the OBDII connector because it's a stripped-down version of the BRZ. ...and BRZ owners would like to think that.

GT86_PRAGUE: what? There are BRZs without LSDs? Somehow hard to believe, AFAIK all ever released from tripplets anywhere including lower trims had one. Even more so that BRZ is usually sold as a bit more upmarket model then FR-S/GT86.. Maybe they simply forgot to mention it having one in localised marketing materials? :/
