OFT 1.59 Stage1 , some questions ;)

Hi guys,

First I know nothing about tuning engine, except reading some stuff here and youtubing.. I would like to ask you to answer few questions.

I think that car is definitely better but I have only K&N Filter and Perrin 2.5 resonated and 1.59 Stage1. I using European premium gas (Like OMV Maxmotion 100 or Shell V-Power Racing - 100RON). I just want to be sure, that Ill not screw anything .

First looks like my MPG is lower now, is it normal ? Should I expect that with every tune (like stage 1, then stage 2), it will need more fuel and MPG will go lower ? ( Or maybe Im driving it much harder, because I enjoy it more ?)

Second, I have a lot of KC learned values there (0-6.5), but KC Correction is 0.. Is it normal or not ? Could I injure engine ?

Third , also AFR is going under 12 in high RPM. Is it normal too ?

http://www.datazap.me/u/roarke/rz-op...7&zoom=136-244

In the zoom, you can see acceleration 1st and 2nd gear up to 7K RPM)

Thank you very much

Generally when people want a tune on a sports car they want more power so thats what tuners aim for and generally more power means more fuel.

I find if you drive smoothly and at lower rpm say below 4000 economy is unchanged from stock tune, but driving agressivly it worse, but better torque and power.

I did a trread on knock correction called KNOCK FIX FOR AUSTRALIAN FUELS but applies to you as well explained knock parameters ect

OFT tunes run a bit rich up top for safety and knock resistance over 6500 you will generally see low 12 or even high elevens. If you have good fuel you could lean it out a bit as long as it remains knock free

How many miles since the flash. A quick look at the log shows no knock correction, IAM is 1.0. You should log flck as well to see if your pulling timing anywhere.

KC learned is the amount of ignition advance applied to your base timing map. If everything is perfect, it should be the same as the values in your max advance table. So the numbers you mentioned are probably fine. Large negative numbers in knock correction and FLKC are what you need to worry about.

your log looks fine.

If you logged the stock tune you would find it also runs quite rich at high rpm

The stock tune generally has some knock especially in the 1500-3500 rpm region , however your on 100 octane so maybe not

I cannot see any evidence of knock in the parameters you have logged ie no FBCK (knock correction) and KC Learned not showing any sharp chunks out of it) but it would be easier to see if you logged FLKC (fine learning knock control) instead of say the VVT parameters.

You LTFT look good less than 4% so MAF scaling looks fine

You generally get worse economy after a tune as you just drive harder checking it out. since the engine now pulls better in 3500-5000 region you tend to drive more in that region where the stock tune was lacking.

carnt see any reason to go back to stock. updated tunes on the way in next couple of weeks hopefully with a bit more power apparently.
