Need a reality check--hail repair.
Hi guys, I had some very minor hail damage on my car a few weeks ago ($600 of tiny little dents). I took it in two weeks ago to be repaired, and I warned them I was picky. A week later, I was washing it and I found a couple more dents. Called them up and had to jump through hoops to get them to call me back and then find a day their guy could do the repair because I have now used my rental coverage so it had to be on a day that worked with my job schedule. Okay, I think I'm finally done with it. Had the car detailed yesterday, and today I see three MORE tiny little dents. Am I being unreasonable to expect them to get all of the dents out? I know they are tiny and no one else will notice, but I feel like I paid for it to be 100% and I thought I was getting an expert and wouldn't be stuck finding then myself. Thanks for any advice! Want to be sure I'm not being ridiculous before I start playing phone tag with the shop AGAIN.

Nah man, I would be picky as well. As far as dents, I think they should be taken out completely (if possible) as if nothing happened. I haven't had experience with PDR, but I would assume any reputable person would spot all of them in the first place.
As far as nicks or deep scratches caused by the hail, that's another story. |

the problem is, YOU are being the pain in the ass. If you are this picky about the dents, then it's your responsibility to go over the car with a fine tooth comb after the work is done and pick out any they missed. Not days later when you wash the car.
Just giving you the reality check you asked for. |

No, that's exactly the kind of feedback I wanted, thank you. I know I'm a pain in the ass and I warned them up front I'm picky. The problem is I'm not very good at spotting them! When I first took it to the adjuster he picked out some I couldn't see, and then after the detail yesterday with paint correction a few more jumped out at me. I called the shop and he actually got right back to me--they are going to take it again for another day and give me a loaner and look at it again really closely. I'm also gonna mark any I can find before I go. So I'm really happy with that solution and I apologized for being difficult.
