Tires, and springs suck on the stock struts. Sadly there are no good springs imo that really match the stock struts, and that is not because of lack of r&d but rather the stock struts are just optimal at factory height.

Get tires or tires/wheels first. A lot of articles out there show that the twins can handle more grip out of the box pretty easily. About all you want to go on stock power is about a 225/45 tire to make the most out of the car and still maintain the "balance".
I'm only a bench racer though - but I read a lot. |

I got 4 of 18X8.5 +44 rims, 225/40R18 Square wheels first.
And the height of my car change a little bit. At least it looks higher. The diameter of my new wheels are about 0.5 inch bigger than my old one(I dont think u can feel any difference). so the car should be a little bit higher(~0.25''). However, those new wheels also clean the gap under the fender a little bit(~0.25''). I hav a five axis body kit, so I do not want to drop too much. Otherwise I may dogleg on my driveway everyday. So I plan to drop it by about 1''. Because of the bigger wheels, the 1'' drop can clean the fender gap as well as a 1.25'' drop (Actually may looks like a 1.4'' drop). And the front bumper wouldn't be a lot lower than stock, but looks much better.

If you go the route of getting new wheels first, and then springs, go for the TRD springs IMO. Keep your strut warranty, plus TRD springs are only going to be around the $250 range, so very competitive pricing from TRD for a change. They'd drop close to an inch, which will be the perfect setup from there on.

I ordered KW V3, should be here next week. swift FR-S springs are good if you want a tail happy car. If planted is wat u want, I will recommend RCE yellow.

PTR07-18130.
That's the part number for the TRD springs. Call a few dealers around you to see if they can get you the springs. I don't think they're available yet but a few people here on the forums have pre-ordered them and they've been told it's going to be $208 for springs alone and $370 for springs AND alignment. |
