Question Constant 14.4v charging?

Last night during a 2.5hr drive i turned on torque because 2.5hr drive by myself... I looked at the voltage and noticed it was sitting at 14.2-14.4 the whole time. This morning during my 27 mile commute i noticed the same thing.

previously I had a 2000 watt amplifier powering a subwoofer and I could watch the car go through charging cycles. You'd see it crank, charge at 14.1-14.4 and then taper off as it topped off the battery. Then you'd see it cycle between 12.8ish and 13.7 during normal loads. now i'm just seeing a steady 14+ volt charge.

The battery is a standard lead acid battery. It's something like 800CCA and less than 2 years old. I haven't checked the cold resting voltage yet but a minute or so after my 45 minute commute this morning voltage was at 12.3v.

Has anyone else experienced this? on the plus side i'm sure my fuel pump and injectors are happy with the little extra voltage but i cant imagine my alternator is happy at all for sitting under load like that for 2.5hrs straight last night

That's normal for these cars. 2017 model BRZs have a voltmeter and mine has always shown a charge of 14+ volts when the engine is running and just over 12 volts with the engine off.

So it looks like a ticked off barely 1yr old battery. 11.6v after sitting in the parking garage for 4hrs at 41 degrees. 5 minute trip down the road got it up to 12.4 but it dropped to 12.1 within 30 seconds of engine shutoff.

Mine had never shown a constant 14.4 that I have seen before. it usually cycled pretty regularly and would only show 14.4 during decel.
