Hello everyone. I was wondering if anyone knows if any company makes a complete set of air cup suspension kits, and if anyone is currently running such kit. If so, any thoughts about it? I wanted to run bags, but uhhh kinda out of my budget lol. Thanks!

My bet is on aircup sets to cost close to completely air suspension kits, so if later didn't fit budget, i doubt former will.
If you looked to air to have extreme drop, yet temporary get some ground clearance back to go over some speedbumps or steep driveways .. my advise would be to really really rethink if you really need that much drop, and go with much cheaper/more reliable options in form of lowering springs (of _sane_ height)+shocks, or coilovers (again keeping lowering at sane level). You don't need much drop for handling/practical reasons, so most probably you wish that for looks. And if so, maybe worth "lowering" by exterior body parts like side & bumper lips/diffuser/arc lips with leaving suspension at sane and still functional configuration instead of investing a lot to workaround problems due wrong initial choice? |

Thanks for your feedback. Maybe I will consider coil over or air cup set up. Prices do differ between the bag and cup approach, thousands actually... I'm going for the low look for the looks and handling purposes. Having a form of air is a bonus since my car is garaged parked among an incline.

I'm in a similar situation where I need to clear my driveway. I ended up buying bags but decided to go cups due to wheel fitment issues so now I have an new Airlift Suspension kit for sale.
Where are you finding cups in the "thousands" less than bags? I'd be very interested if this was true. Are you sure you're not confusing the price tag for JUST cups? I'm interested in the entire set up which should include management, tank, bags/cups(and coils). My research shows bags/cups costing pretty much the same. Bags can add up depending on type of management and cups can add up depending on coil pairing, but both are in the $3K range.

Yeah that's what I meant by being more costly, if I did bags I wanted a specific management which would be way more pricey than cups. Another thing is I'm worried about is being immobilized if I did bags.. Idk.. What cups are you running?

Cups & bags both are not that common, mostly due high price. So 99+% obviously are running normal coilovers, be those stock, or aftermarket. So at end i can only advise to choose something specific if you are on tight budget. Be it insane drop for looks and live with loosing any practicality and frequent damage to body parts, or (imho much better) be more sane with drop with car still actually driveable.
P.S. There are many opinions, what is cool and what's not, but if i see on public streets extremely lowered cars, they and their owners look like laughingstock in my eyes :P. They should carry tuning stickers of "I paid money to make car worse and undriveable". |
