Ebay TRD Spoiler?
so i just purchased an ebay TRD style spoiler for my raven black FRS. I got it from here.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/201249062728...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT However, upon receiving my package, i noticed the spoiler does not i have double sided tape attached, it is simply just a spoiler and they gave me a packet of what seems to be some fluid. How would I go about attaching this? Any help appreciated, thanks. [IMG] [/IMG][IMG] [/IMG]

NO WAY YOU GOT CHRISTIAN'S CAR! ![]() Anyways to help you out a little, you can pick up some 3m double sided tape an most auto parts stores.. The OEM spoiler will most likely have had holes drilled into it so I would take off the oem one first to make sure that the new one you purchased will cover those holes. If it does, great! this will be an easy project. Clean off the rear trunk with some 50% alcohol and 50% water mixture in a spray bottle before you place the spoiler down. place some 3m double sided tape on the parts of the spoiler that will make contact with the trunk. Should be pretty self explanatory from here..

I used 3M tape to stick it on. Make sure to clean both the trunk and spoiler with isopropyl alcohol and take your time in lining it up. That liquid is a sealant I believe. I used it to seal off the contact point of the trunk and spoiler with the provided tool to get into the tight areas. Hope that helps!

is the liquid sealant required? I'd prefer not stripping paint if i ever find myself wanting to remove the spoiler. does the 3M tape have to be applied on all surfaces that make contact with the trunk? Or just certain areas? |

That is body silicone. I didn't bother with it. No issues whatsoever. Just got some 3m double sided tape and some adhesion promoter sponges and went to town.

Just apply it using your finger to push into the gap then the tool to push it in and remove the excess. The sharper pointed edge was what I used to make sure the sealant went deep enough. Then I wiped it down with a damp towel and soap to make sure I got it all off as I went. It'll be pretty messy if you don't. You'll be able to see where you did and didn't seal it correctly.
