Just throwing this out there, but could it be a MAF issue? I noticed that I had to pull a bit on the MAF wire to get it to clear the belt and get to the new MAF location. Could a wire have been severed? Just trying to see if I can help. Good luck guys and I hope a solution is found soon.

Maybe you guys should take this to private correspondence? Not saying to hide it or anything but with you guys dominating this thread it makes it appear that everyone has this problem which isn't the case.

Thats what I am thinking. Can someone make a new thread for the users having any issues. We've shipped so many units, if it was a problem with every car we would definitely know by now. I've had 20+ members email me to say how smooth the car was now running, and not one member call us regarding any hesitation. I am not saying there is not a problem, but lets keep everything in proportion right now.

Fuel types, connectors, maf placement, tuning. These could all be attributing to the hiccup.

That doesn't help anyone. If there are *any* issues at all with this intake, be it a misthreaded intake tube, "bogging" at low RPM/high load, or grommets that don't seem to fit right, I want to hear about it. Prospective customers as well as existing customers who might benefit from the information have nothing to gain if this information is in PM, and there's nothing to lose by keeping this info in the feedback thread.

Nobody here is badmouthing AIRAID. To the contrary, they've been an astounding example of a vendor that I want to do business with repeatedly, and their responses to issues that have been reported have been swift and effective.

This bogging issue appears to be something that happens to stock cars, not just cars with a tune. To that end, I don't believe this discussion needs to be taken private as this potentially affects everyone using the intake.

Not only that, but having a single thread dedicated solely to issues of a particular product make it appear more negative than it can be. Then THAT thread will be filled with "Oh I don't have that issue, it works fine" posts mixed in with people who have legitimate issues and we are right back to what we have here.

But hey, if that's what AJUSA and AIRAID want, I'll gladly throw a thread up.

This thread is for "Intake System Feedback" as well is it not?!? Just because it isn't all positive feedback doesn't mean WE the consumers don't have the right to know!

Where is the MAF exactly being placed since I can't seem to tell from current pics? I know in the 350z's having a cone filter with the MAFs too close would cause turbulence and erroneous readings that actually caused the intake systems to lose power over stock.

The MAF mount is inside the box, just after the velocity stack. It's about 1.5-2 inches from the mouth of the velocity stack. The mouth sits inside the filter.

I'd venture to guess that it's the same thing as most of the intakes for the Evo X, MAF sensors being placed to close to the intake filter causing issues and almost necessitating a tune/reflash. Whereas the intakes that had the MAF sensors further downstream of the filter had no need for fuel correction and worked as intended.

I'd suggest looking into MAF placement honestly, this definitely isn't the first time I've heard of this occuring.

Like I said before. If AIRAID wants this thread to be the roses-and-rainbows thread, I will gladly move all my information and work towards a resolution to another, appropriately named, thread.

Not all the time. Example: getting falsely accused of any sex crime and having it plastered everywhere. If there is an issue there would be more than 1 guy complaining about it. Who knows what that issue is but let the vendor try and fix it.

The other two with a tune should honestly work this out with the tuner. I've owned mostly Subarus and it was well understood that intakes that make power require tunes. You wouldn't add an intake to an off the shelf map and expect things to work just fine. This doesn't mean the tune is to blame or the parts. You just need a custom tune. It's like it's day 1 in here? Haven't you guys had other cars?

Once again, I'm not calling you a liar. You have an off the shelf tune and now that you added an intake they aren't exactly working well together. I'm not surprised and you shouldn't be either. That doesn't mean there is something wrong with the intake or the tune. Just get your tune tweaked and move on?
