You realize you can set the shift light to whatever RPM you want, right? It doesn't have anything to do with the engine's power output.

There's no way the governor wasn't functioning either...

+1, I wish this came in Black..curious if I can retrofit (cut) the perrin intake tube to fit in its place...

Did the TRD intake need to do the maf-scaling?

Thanks.

You will want to if you can. Sure it does run on the stock tune, but this intake has a lot more turbulence compared to the stock setup and the fact the box is just giant. It's doable though.

I have OFT stage1 tuning now.
Is that good enough to correct those turbulence or I need customize tuning?
Thanks again.

Might just need to scale the MAF with one of the files that's on this site. I think it's in Steve's thread for MAF scaling. Rest of it should be fine.

Shiv says the TRD doesn't need to be retuned. Im running mine with OFT stage 2 and zero issues.

I have seen it noted that it was really close to stock maf calibration and I have seen another say it was a ways off. Mine is in the "close enough" ballpark, but I'm going to rescale regardless. I'm running Stg 2 UEL with the OFH.

How to do the "rescale"?
I cannot find the post.
Thanks.

I don't think you need any MAF rescaling. The ECU when it is in closed-loop mode, it takes additional measurements from the O2 sensor and adjusts the AFRs. These measurements are much more exact than the MAF measurements. This is because ECU expects to be able to deal with overly dirty fuel filters and reduced fuel flow issues. Then it also uses these corrections in the MAF readings in open-loop mode. In a sense, the ECU will somehow re-calibrate the MAF readings itself. It might not be perfect, but it will do the job. I would expect issues in the AFR, only if the MAF sensor needs a big re-calibration.

TRD intake unlikely to need maf scaling it was designed to work with stock tune/maf scaling.

Have a look at your LTFT Long term fuel trims if they are over about 7% then maybe worth maf scaling.

If you on OFT Stage 1 tune then Commanded AFR and AFR (measured by 02 sensor) should follow each other fairly closely under load, on overun injectors turn off .

If both of those ok then maf scaling is ok .

like this

have a read of maf scaling links below.

Any before and after dynos with stage 1 OFT? The biggest thing I like about this intake is the angle of the filter pointing air towards the "Inlet tube" while stock points air straight into a wall. Also that there is no curve for air to go through, logically I would think this intake is better designed then most I see out there but I'm probably wrong lol
