For some reason, I don't think my connecting flight from Atlanta to White Plains on Tuesday will be going on. Looks like I'll spending some time in Atlanta, but we'll see.

It's not the skinny trees we have to worry about. With the rain that's coming, root systems on large trees are gonna get saturated and that's when you have the ginormous trees falling over and smashing you into a pancake...or worse, your car!

Unfortunately I HAVE to be at work tomorrow. No options. Hopefully the car will be ok in the parking lot of TMI.

I'm thinking to take my sisters car. The garage at work is enclosed but many of the roads on the way flood and I think I'll have better luck driving a Honda Accord than the BRZ. Guess I'll see what the roads look like in the evening.

If you are parking your car in the open just park it away from low areas prone to flooding, trees and walls. It will take approximately 140-180mph winds to flip a stationary car...but if you are parked near a wall which could cause wind lift you can flip easier. I just did some reading on the subject and came across a test performed in the wind tunnel for this.
Bottom line stay safe and I hope we all come out of this without needing car insurance claims. If you have to drive in this crap be very careful. |
