I just got a price for a set of 225/45-17 and might order them in the morning. Just a thought but perhaps we get higher spec tyres here for the higher price we pay? Last edited by sierra; 04-15-2013 at 06:00 AM. |

I skimmed the article & couldn't find if they mentioned wheel width
Did anyone see it in the article? |

One of leading Russian car magazines AuroReview did recently a similar test of high performance tires with very similar results:
1st - Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 2nd - Dunlop Sport Maxx RT 3rd - Continental ContiSportContact 5 Pirelli P Zero did not participate but Pirelli P Zero Rosso was 6th out of 9 contenders. I will go for Dunlops - consistently among leaders in tests and weight less than anything: 8.4 kg for 225/40R17 - compare with 11kg for the same Pirelli P Zero Rosso or 11.3kg for Bridgestone Potenza. It should feel like 10 extra hp thanks to 10kg less rotating mass! http://www.autoreview.ru/_archive/se...ECTION_ID=7279 |

Flogged those Dunlop Sport Maxx RT's on the track today. Here's a couple hundred miles of break in wear plus one day on the track.
The tire did perform fairly well, especially in the wet. Seemed slightly squirmy under very hard braking... but that could have been some other factor (I'm a n00b). |
